hey guys
there used to be a lot of ford escorts here with mh reg all of then diesel, infact there where many mh reg diesel cars here for dead cheap prices,
seeing the dead cheap prices we had bought one escort about 6 months back, clean record servicing book, but the day we bought it the electrical system caught fire !!!!! we had it exact for a month and in that month we might have used it exactly for a week, rest all the time in the garage

now suddenly many 98 99 model mercs (and bmws) with mh and ga reg are cropping up here for around 6(imp ones) to 7(ind made)(e200,220) l for a petrol
can these cars be trusted?? ie these from out side look very good, even when the engine is seen there are no signs of tampering, what is the resale value in mumbai?

and how much can a 2000 model e250 (round lights) done 37k kms be bought/sold for???

thx!!!!
and abt 8 to 10 l for diesels(e250, 300)

Due to the very expensive taxation structure in Maharashtra, I can understand the sale of out-side registered vehicles here. But why would MH vehicles be sold elsewhere? Presuming you are speaking of Hyderabad, there is no taxation/other fees benefit for a car dealer to sell an MH car out there, keeping the high transportation costs in mind.

Beware of cars that may have been totalled by previous owners, or of stolen cars. The latter is very difficult to register in the home state, and thus are sold frequently in outside territories.

Remember one thing - If a deal looks too good to be true, it probably is

Hey aadix

97/98 Mercs here do go for about 7 to 8 lakhs that too through the autorised BEnz dealers in Mumbai. All their records are clean and the cars are very immaculate. However its the first time i'm hearing MH cars being sold out of state cause its the other case around here. Just be sure about the papers caues like GTo said there are chances of the cars being stolen.

Cheers

7-8L for a round light Merc. I guess thats quite less compared to MH prices. And what are so many MH mercs doin in Hyd. In Bombay itself people are askin aroud 15L for a 2000 model E Petrol.

I feel that theres some JHOL goin on. Cud be stolen/accident cars.

7 to 8 l not for the round light one, the sqr lights

i was asking how much one can expect for a 2000 round light model done 37k kms

and gto, here in hyd, i dont know why but diesel cars go for hell a lot of premiun, and diesel cars have a waiting list in hyd, could that be a reason for so many mh reg diesel cars here?

i dont know about other cars, but i would have no problem picking up a merc, no matter how old, or how much mileage it's clocked up. mercedes' start to show their true quality after 100,000 kms.
what is a little tacky is MH regstd cars being sold out of state. my guess as all others is that either they are stolen or have previously been totalled. shouldn't buy one unless they are absolutley verifiable.
a 2000 e250 with 37,000 kms should probably go for around 10-12 lakhs or so, but that's just a guess.

A 2000 model E250 MH registered selling price in Bombay is around 15-16 lacs. Regarding the E220 selling price in Bombay for a 96-97 model is around 7-7.5 lacs depending on the condition. I have known a couple for sale even at 6.75. All these cars require some basic work though.
