Maharashtra: Mahindra Cero to set up vehicle scrapping units

The government of Maharashtra has signed an MoU with Cero (Mahindra MSTC Recycling Pvt. Ltd.) to set up vehicle scrapping centres in the state.

Cero will be setting up scrappage centres with a capacity to recycle 40,000 end-of-life 2-wheelers, 3-wheelers, passenger and commercial vehicles annually. The company currently has a recycling facility in Pune and is planning to set up four more in Mumbai, Nagpur, Aurangabad and Nashik.

Besides Maharashtra, Cero is also present in Greater Noida, Chennai, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Indore, Hyderabad & Kolkata.

The government of Maharashtra has also partnered with Tata Motors to set up a Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility (RVSF) in the state. The proposed scrappage centre will have the capacity of recycling up to 35,000 vehicles a year.
