hey guys,
just saw this headline in today's indian express which says mumbai is the most polluted city in india.

pollution levels are 900 - 1200 times more than that in delhi

man this is bad news !!!! i wonder how much of this is contributed by the trucks and tempos and buses who spew out their black smoke. all this supported by the autos and taxis.

the same problem was faced in delhi but with a strong will the govt asked all the heavy vehicles , buses and trucks, taxis , autos to convert to cng...and look how clean is the there now !!

why cant bombay's moronic taxi and auto unions led by stupid morons who know nothing abt the environment turn over a new leaf. i agree the govt has to work hard to provide more filling stations to facilitate this turn over but its a no-win situation rite now. the govt wants the taxis and autos to convert first before the have filling station and vice versa.

why dont we at t-bhp do something about this ? we can make people aware of this problem...

what say fellas ? we will be doing ourselves and our city a great favour !

cheers

Dont know about the pollution in Ahmedabad, but I am sure the cholestrol leves are way above 900times

But Mumbai being 1000x more polluted than Delhi is rubbish.

well on ana average its getting hotter every year by 1-1.5 degress C, and pollution is one of the major causes. sometimes i wonder how ignorant can the government agencies get, and i just lose all hope and paranoia and vow to leave this country never to return. but then i think, if we don't do something about it soon, nobody else ever will. i think this is a really serious matter, amongst a lot others. and if sensible people like us do come together and maybe tackle atleast one of the issues, it would do a lot of good. i really think we should do something seriously and in an organised manner. its way too easy to blame the govt who we all know are a**sh*l*s, but we aren't.
