It's crazy yet true that we are now finding 2.5cr ex-showroom as "competitive" Given the way the new and used car market is behaving. Probably the worst buyers market I have ever seen!

The price diff between the S450 and S580 Maybach is almost as much as the difference between the latter and the S680 Maybach.
MBIL is not even trying hard to justify the premium for the S680, even the performance hungry people won't find it worthwhile since there is just a 0.3 sec diff to 100 km/hr
Not that anyone buying a Maybach cares about performance as such, but there are v12 loyalist or rather industrialists who will buy the S680 just for the badge regardless of the price.

Hope few years in when the markets get back to normal one can buy a sparingly used S580 Maybach for the price of a new S450.

There is performance should you need it though. Combined with the all-wheel-drive system, the 503hp, 700Nm V8 will whisk this 2.3-tonne limo from 0-100kph in 5.0 seconds flat

The 9-speed auto, too, has had its shifts smoothened out so much that you forget it’s even there.

Mercedes air suspension set-ups are historically on the softer side, but in this car – whether in Comfort or Maybach modes – it’s just a bit too floaty. Switching the suspension to Sport mode does improve things but even this is rather soft.
