I just got my indica turbo DLG today, but the user's manual is awash with instructions for the indica DICOR. Among other things, like weight etc, it recommends a shift from 4th to 5th at 140 kmph! :Shockked:..the DLG can just reach 140 ...
Now i feel i should have waited :(
can post scans of the manual if anyone wants :)

Yes Indica DICOR is due for some time now.
I think it will have a major change in Interiors too. For example the speedo console at the center (like in Spark).. and many more improvements, like lower dash, better steering position, and so on.

If the DICOR engine comes in the current body shell it is unlikely to have any major interior changes, as the test mules and prototypes did not have any changes.....The major changes like new console, cluster in the centre etc is expected on the new model which will be on a totally new platform...

Also the Manuals have Specs of the DICOR as the manuals are the same for the export models also...

DCEite, isnt that for the next-gen Indica successor-the Swift competitor?

Console in the center??? Aaaaaarrrrgh!!! Reminds me of those ancient cars - the Dodges, Chevys, our own Amby.... And the center console is why I refuse to even consider the spark. Looks like Indica wants to give "more spark per spark"??

And today, at a dealer's, I saw a display of Indigo "grand" - with white upholstery, dual tone head lamps (like the zen Estilla), etc.

Looks like Tata is trying to imitate other manufacturers.

Not exactly...

Though, you could post the specifications, and any extra features it might have. If you some across something.

Yes it was meant to be the swift competitor and IMHO, the dicor indica will knock the competition off its feet with a configuration like that. Imagine shift from 4th to 5th at 140kph. It should be around the corner anytime now. Cant wait for it.

In effect, a 4 gear transmission like the M800. lol:

How many of us will take a hatch to 140- 150 kmph, on a regular basis?

Must be a printing mistake. 140 instead of 40 kmph.
10 kmph- 1 to 2
20 kmph- 2 to 3
30kmph- 3 to 4
40 kmph- 4 to 5

Greenhorn. Thanks for posting this (Happy driving in your new car!). Can't imagine how a company like Tata's who would have their production planning systems oiled to the teeth, can make a slip up like this. However I wonder if their agency has just taken the Indigo manual and done a cut-paste for the indica. For some reason the Dicor max power output units are in kW while the rest are in PS. From here I see 52kW works out to 70PS, same as the Indigo Dicor.

Interestingly, in the page above, there is no mention of 'common rail' in the 'type' section. I'm also a little curious here after seeing both TC and TCIC type engines in the manual. Does Tata sell a non-intercooled (IC) version of the Indica Turbo at all? Is that the DLG?

yup, the DLS turbo is without an intercooler

Thanks greenhorn. :)

The power comes to around 70 ps only. Which is nothing exceptional! Indica turbo has 68 ps! And Swift diesel has 75bhp, but since weight it up, performance might be same only.

Seems the brought the engine capacity below 1400 reducing the stroke by .5 Tax soaps, may be? But, isnt it 1500cc for diesel?

Torque comes to 140Nm. Again normal compared to 190Nm for the Swift DDiS. Wonder what the turbo lag would be cause the torque is quoted from a low 1400 rpm.

One good thing is ABS is an option now.

Any other differences worth noting?

And, i didnt understand the changing to 5th at 140 kmph part. Power seems identical, torque seems identical and gear ratios have been changed slightly only.

Hi greenhorn, Congrats for the new car. I am confused between Indica turbo (If Dicor is not launched shortly) and WagonR Duo. Are you sure regarding sound deadening? Can you please post scanned pages of the manual .................. that will of real help. thanks
