It looks a little larger than swift. I have been seeing it in person being tested on double road at Bangalore. This is the third occasion that I saw it. People can pay around 5.5-6 lakh for it if they come up with good engine/interior/goodies package. Otherwise, I really doubt it.
7 lakhs for a HAtch ......well Get a life Skoda....we ain't no snake charmers anymore
Unfortunately i don't have a Skoda now so I have to wait till the take bookings from new customers
I guess a certain percentage of people in India wont mind paying 7 lakhs for the Fabia and Skoda being a premium brand in India.
Hellcat
What's so un-magic about the word Hatch?
I don't see why there should be any limit to the amount people pay for a "5-door car" if it is a good car, well-built, well-equiped etc...
It offers a huge practical advantage, to those who don't need an estate, but do sometimes have to transport stuff. For instance, my company VW Golf (over ten years ago) was very useful for carrying a heap of computer gear about in on those occasions it wasn't couriered before delivery.
That obstruction under the back window is an absolute limit to what you can carry in a saloon --- a fact that annoyed many times with my Rover.
What I'm hearing is that there is a lot of prejudice against the word 'hatch'. Odd, when, for quite a few years the VW Golf GTI was one of UK's most desired cars!
Thad E Ginathom () - in india, hatch = paisa vasool :D
The concept of SuperMinis is yet to take off in India. Not that any of the cars being sold here are 'Super' Minis in terms of performance - their prices are 'super', though.
People will prefer a 3 box sedan to a hatch if they're available at the same price.

i double that. . . but dont you think that the customer behaviour has changed. i mean 3 years back if some one would say buy a swift / gets at 5.5 lacs, they would say NO. but today we are buying the same. Point is one should see value in the thing they are buying.
Frankly, a few years back if you'd told me I'd buy a new Suzuki instead of a second-hand 'decent' car --- I'd have laughed!

ditto LOL.
As an aside, it looks as big as swift not much bigger.
Funny dialog between an obvious car enthusiastic and a reluctant other. BTW, what car was it being shot from?
Hey guys.. please correct me if I am wrong..
But in the Auto show, I saw fabia in sedan version competing against City, optra etc.
If it is priced at 7-8 lacs its very good prices.. and I would go any day for Fabia over City because of its built efficiency..
And its really a shocker to hear that they have started the bookings of fabia.. and guys are booking it without TD.
