What is preventing dealerships from fake booking and reallocation? Hi folks,
The whole Mahindra booking fiasco and long wait times for delivery has got me curious on the below scenario.
What is preventing dealerships of indemand vehicles from accepting a booking from one customer and reallocating to another? (Maybe some people tries to jump the queue by give 5k+ extra to save time, dealerships/middlemen making the money). I know 5k is peanuts for some maybe the amount could be higher depending on how desperate the person is.
What about fake bookings? i.e book at introductory price (saving 2L) and maybe it sell it for 50k (to 1.5L) more, whereby easily pocketing the difference. Win-win for customer (who couldnt book on time) and dealerships.
I ask because some customers who booked at the time of launch haven’t received vehicle yet but others seem to get it sooner. (I know it depends on model and what not)
How are manufacturers making sure bookings are honoured? And what as customers can we do to make sure that we get the vehicles on time?
Thoughts? Ideas?
