Re: Maruti's venerable 800cc engine to be discontinued

My family's automotive journey started with the Suzuki F-series engine. We used it from 1987 - 2013. A good 26 years. I don't know why i seem to absolutely love the sound of a Maruti 800. I have so many memories attached with it. Infact because of these memories only we never thought of going for a non-maruti vehicle. In last 35 years we have had only Maruti Suzuki vehicles (1987 800 Std, 2004 Alto LXi, 2013 Swift VXi).Attaching some pictures

The first pic is from 22/5/2013 at Sai Service Andheri East. Had gone to check out the Swift

The second pic is from 31/5/2013. The last day i saw our White Alto. It was looking brand new even if it was almost 9 years old.

The third pic of our 800 is from February 1987. My father holding my older sister in Orissa.

The fourth pic is taken exactly 20 years later. After 18 years of service and lakhs of kms across three states Maharashtra, Gujarat, Orissa. The 800 returned to its native place back to Orissa. I haven't seen it for last 15 years.

IMHO a small basic car gives you so much joy and memories compared to expensive cars. This is just my opinion.
