Used car retailing platform Spinny has inaugurated its largest used car outlet in Bangalore.



‘Spinny Park’ is located near Yelahanka on the Kempegowda International Airport Road. Spread across 5 acres, the facility houses 1,000 used cars and has test drive zones, interactive dashboards, customer lounges and community zones.



Spinny operates over 55 car hubs across the country with a total parking capacity of 10,000 cars. Out of these, six car hubs are located in Bangalore. With the addition of Spinny Park, the total parking capacity in the city has reached 2,200 cars.



Spinny Park will house both 'Spinny Assured' and 'Spinny Max' pre-owned luxury cars. Every Spinny Assured car comes with a 200-point inspection checklist, a 5-day money-back guarantee and a 1-year warranty.

It's great to see how startups are working hard to make used car purchase a more approachable, upmarket, and trustworthy experience. This is the need of the hour. It's high time India also got multi-brand car dealerships for new cars but that's a story for another thread.

Now that's the way to go. Very impressive. Love the idea of a test drive facility within.

I just hope that the '200 point checklist' is actually implemented and not an eyewash. My earlier experiences with similar 'quality checked' cars from Car Trade and True Value have been terrible enough to drive me away from used cars.

Been to their hub at Hinjewadi, Pune to checkout an Innova. The hub is pretty huge and looks swell. Its good to see players like Spinny where you can easily sell or buy a preowned car with ease.

Great move by Spinny to have a dedicated space to showcase the pre owned cars. Hope the staff is equally competent when it comes to the cars unlike a few competitors who try to force the car on the customers. Even though the test drive facility is available, hope they would allow the actual conditions test drive i.e on the roads.

Had test driven an Ecosport AT last year from Spinny. Few points below:
1. The car was brought to home for test drive and was neatly maintained.
2. the car itself was making some noise, and didnt feel good to drive.
3. The executive wasnt knowledgeable so had to cut short the conversation.
4. They were open to get the car checked from Ford guys.

I will not rely on their 200 check list, their prices are high though. Heard that their margin is 10-15%, after all Tendulkar is their brand ambassador.

Impressive! What they need to do now is sort out their distorted customer care system.

While their car buying process is fairly streamlined, the sales process needs a proper revamp.

Much higher i believe. the only part they have to pay for is parking space and some maintenance, they wont do tyre changes, just some polishing and cleaning. A 52k run 2017 Brio automatic was at 6L, usual price is around 4-4.5, depending on how well kept the car is.

Spinny’s year-end report :

Buyers – As per the report, Spinny saw a 60% increase in first-time car buyers in India this year. As opposed to last year’s 57%, it was 3% higher. At 32%, an increase of 4% in female buyers was recorded as compared to last year.


Buyer Behaviour – A massive 85% buyers opted for having their purchase driven home to them while 48% customers preferred buying completely online. Bengaluru, Delhi-NCR & Hyderabad were the top three cities which showed maximum demand for Spinny’s used cars this year.

Vehicle Preferences – Maruti, Hyundai, Honda & Tata continue to be the most-liked brands while Hyundai’s Grand i10 & Elite i20, Renault’s Kwid, and the Ford Ecosport are topped the charts of being the top-most selling pre-owned cars.

Monotonous colours like White, Silver and Grey remain to be the choice of buyers thanks to their neutral nature. Interestingly, buyers from Chennai and Bangalore also showed demand for red coloured cars.

Despite SUVs dominating in the new-car market, Spinny buyers preferred hatchbacks and sedans over them.
