I appreciate your suggestion and for acceleration alone EVs are great but I'm a true petrolhead. Would never support an EV platform as long as I'm alive unless our corrupt netas force us to. Moreover, as I already mentioned EVs don't have manual gearboxes or hydraulic steering or the sound of an internal combustion engine or the flexibility of instant refuel and go. Somehow the idea of EVs doesn't sit well with me from any perspective.

You're right, I do value performance but not at the cost of analog feedback and raw feel of the car. For me performance includes acceleration, handling, shorter wheelbase, cornering, body roll, direct feedback from the steering, raw analog experienced, manual controls etc. which no EV or even a regular modern car offers. Hence my previous post :sadface

Mahindra folks, if you are reading this, fix the horn latency issue in the TBHP Car of the Year 2022.

The horn starts sounding after a considerable delay after the driver presses the horn pad.

And, nobody can do a beep-beep (short quick chirps) with the Scorpio's horn. It will either not sound at all or will come out as a straight single chirp.

May be Anand Mahindra's tweet and Team BHP Car of the year triggered Economic Times to publish this article today??

Anyway, this is simply astounding performance by Mahindra. Few years back people were talking about how not to buy Mahindra and TATA cars. But here it is, we are seeing the days about how to buy Mahindra and TATA cars.

Today, there cannot be one single customer who cannot have Mahindra and TATA car in their car buying options.

Kudos to the team who are investing their best efforts. clap:

Mahindra's recent success has to be accredited to them finally figuring out and fully embracing what they truly are (the maker a true SUVs and UVs) and then working with a singular focus to become the best at what they are and make each of their vehicles, the best in their corresponding categories in the Indian market.

This is what happens when a company finally finds out its true calling and then gives 100% effort. Gone are times when they were wasting their time on experimental and quirky often nonsensical vehicles like quanto, kuv100 etc.

While Maruti's future plans might looked non sensical at times, no one is as good as them at at finding what the customer will accept. (Not necessarily what they want, but what the indian mass is willing to accept as the standard).
Maruti has mastered of the art of making perfectly average cars - and this is by design. While as enthusiasts it might not be exciting, its what's most Indians will be willing to buy with their eyes closed.

We are a SUV nation so it's not surprising the Scorpio-N won, following the Thar last year and the XUV 700 the year before.

However I am just glad the Virtus & Slavia have a combined second highest tally of votes; although it maybe that everyone who actually like these cars are actually on Team BHP.

Exactly my thought when I saw the tweet so I Googled the meaning. It means "having or showing refined taste or good judgement".

However no one really uses it that way anymore. Discerning would have been more appropriate.

I can't vote yet, but the Tiago eV would get my vote easily. Everything else seems to be in the 20L or more Segment. Having a proper usable eV from a legacy manufacturer who's invested completely into Electric is a great inroad to having EVs penetrate the regular market.

I'm hoping for an affordable Nano eV sooner than later.
