Thank you! On smooth roads the ride is very much comparable. But once you have some undulations, potholes or stones on the road, the triple effect of 19 inch wheels with low profile tires, run flats and lack of adaptive suspension show up. The car transmits everything with no attenuation, to the driver and passengers. The only thing to do is slow down and take them easy.

Fortunately, the roads I drive most often in Chennai are in good shape and it is not much of a bother. On the smooth National highways in TN, I am sure this car will shine. Fortunately the car does not scrape the bottom on normal size speed breaks, the GC is adequate and the suspension is firm enough to avoid any sagging even with 3-4 passengers on board.

The exact sale number is difficult to give but around 200 pre-LCI's were sold. Similarly the Lci will also be sold in those numbers. However it would be ideal to sell a total of 340 (Pre-LCI + LCI) numbers only and maintain the exclusivity

Besides the cosmetic bits like Matte-shade paint and red brake calipers, M-colour seat belts etc., the only main functional addition seems to be the 360-degree camera. A premium of Rs. 3 lakhs is too much for just a few of these bits.

Addition of a M-adaptive suspension would have been a worthwhile add.

Agree, would have been the icing on the cake even at 5L++ more. If I remember correctly, the Passat offered adaptive suspension at the princely sum of ~26-29L in ~2018-20.

BMW seems to have quietly revised the prices on the website. It displays starting ₹71.5L now.

That is no small hike- 2.3 lakhs ex-showroom wil translate to almost 3 lakhs more on-road in many states.

This move further narrows the gap between X3 M40i and the M340i further, to just 15 lakhs ex-showroom.

Sure, the M340i continues to be a high value package for the price, with XDrive, that sweet B58 engine and the mild hybrid powertrain, but it just became a little bit less so!

Happy to state that I bit the bullet and took delivery of my M340i xDrive Shadow two Sundays ago. I am in the process of getting to know the car and as I write this, have already driven 1400 kms. Will write a detailed review once I put together all my thoughts.
