Maruti Suzuki has announced that it achieved record exports in CY2022. The carmaker claims to have dispatched 2,63,068 units from January-December 2022



Maruti Suzuki’s exports crossed the 2 lakh unit mark for the second consecutive year. Exports grew by 28% over the previous year, during which, 2,05,450 cars were shipped to markets across the world.

Furthermore, Maruti’s exports more than doubled in CY2022 compared to the pre-Covid year (2019). In 2020, exports dropped to 85,208 units.

Maruti Suzuki has been exporting its products since FY1986-87. The carmaker’s first consignment was shipped to Hungary. Today, the brand exports to around 100 countries in Africa, the Middle East, Latin America and ASEAN countries.

I'm probably cribbing, but I wish that Maruti would focus a little more on its domestic customers and reduce the waiting period after booking too. Getting a little tired of the Arena guys giving me the standard 'You'll get it when you get it' response, like that helps.

MSIL seems to be getting better with the numbers with every passing year. They really have so many things going for them - affordable, maintainable, resalable and most of all, reliable.

Pity that their best powertrains aren't offered here despite the dominance.

Why have Maruti Suzuki not published 3-Door Jimny in the list of exports ?

We all know that 3-Door Jimny were manufactured in India and exported to many countries.

Or may be it's another division of Suzuki in India that exported the 3-Door Jimny ?

Well done, a great feat by MSIL. The dividends repatriated to its parent in Japan in US $ were from their Indian sales all through the years, when exports were miniscule. Now with these colossal numbers, some of the royalties would evidently be from their foreign exchange earnings.

And it would also be interesting to know about the number of NCAP stars, these 2.6 lakh odd cars have. The safety rating will for sure not be ONE STAR as is still very common today for MSIL for its India sales. Very few countries like India would allow a carmaker with an earlier ZERO, now "vastly improved" to ONE STAR safety rating, endanger the lives of its citizens.

Maruti Suzuki exports first batch of made-in-India Grand Vitaras to Latin America.

Maruti Suzuki India has commenced overseas shipment of its recently launched Grand Vitara. The first batch of Grand Vitara's sailed to Latin America from the Kamarajar Port (erstwhile Ennore Port) recently.
The company plans to export the Grand Vitara to over 60 countries across Latin America, Africa, Middle East, ASEAN and neighbouring regions
