I have a similar question. Is Autocop approved by ARAI? Recently, TATA AIG gave me a call and made an offer for the 4th year insurance. When I tried to claim a discount on having fitted an anti theft device, the agent wanted to know if I have an ARAI seal on the RC book stating that an anti theft device is installed. Has anyone who has faced a similar situation any advice or comments?

Ok... Let me ask the question differently. How many folks on this forum have insured their vehicles from TATA AIG AND claimed a discount for installing an anti theft device? The issue I am facing is that TATA insists that we get ARAI approval for the device. I was told by the agent that the dealer can provide this. When I approached the dealer, he has no clue about what I am talking about! So I am left in a fix with a possibility of a dishonored insurance policy in the event of any unfortunate incident that may involve a claim.

Even I was asked the same question, when AIG drew me a proposal.
This was for the immobilizer that comes with the Swift. I told him to contact Maruti Swift and get relevant details, since it was factory-made. The marketing guy shut-up.

In general, how many after market products are approved by ARAI - like Anti Theft alarms, Imported Tyres, Alloys, performance products etc. How do we know the products are tested and certified under India Road and climate conditions?

I do not find much information at the ARAI site emission certification performance of alternate fuel vehicles conversion of IDI engine to DI combustion system, is anyone knows or finds please shed your lights here.
