Maruti Suzuki had showcased the Brezza with a factory-fitted CNG kit at the Auto Expo 2023. Now, the carmaker has started accepting pre-bookings for the Brezza S-CNG.



The Brezza S-CNG will be offered with the K15C 1.5-litre engine, which also powers the Ertiga and XL6. This engine develops 102 BHP and 137 Nm when running on petrol. The engine output drops to 87 BHP and 122 Nm when running on CNG. The crossover is likely to get a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Rumours suggest that Maruti could offer the Brezza S-CNG in four variants: LXi, VXi, ZXi and ZXi+. The 6-speed automatic gearbox is likely to come in VXi, ZXi and ZXi+ trims. This means, like the petrol version, the CNG customers will also get features such as the 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Arkamys audio system, an electric sunroof, cruise control and wireless charging; among others.

Rumour: Maruti Brezza CNG to get three new variants

Last month, Maruti Suzuki launched the Brezza CNG in India. It is currently available in four variants: LXi, VXi, ZXi and ZXi Dual Tone. Now, as per a new report, the carmaker is planning to add three new variants.



Reports suggest Maruti is likely to offer the Brezza CNG in LXi (O), VXi (O) and ZXi (O) trims. These variants could get additional features over their respective standard trims.

At present, the Brezza CNG comes equipped with LED headlamps with LED daytime running lights, dual-tone alloy wheels, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, wireless charging, automatic climate control, cruise control and a head-up display. The details of the three new variants are still unknown.

The Brezza CNG is powered by a 1.5-litre engine that develops 102 BHP and 135 Nm when running on petrol and 87 BHP and 121.5 Nm in CNG mode. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.

Brezza CNG sales in April:

in the first two months of FY2024, the popular compact SUV is estimated to have sold 25,300 units, including 7,500 units of the Brezza CNG launched in mid-March 2023. Interestingly, sunroof variants contributed 42% or 10,626 units of the Brezza's total sales in April and May 2023.
