Unless government mandates nothing is going to change from them as clearly the customers don’t care. Their cars being structurally unstable is no hidden fact but that has no bearing on the sale numbers. So why should they bother

But if they actually manage to do structural changes which are not visible (unlike the bling), it would be the default choice in the segment.

Such a beautiful car. It's a pity that it doesn't score well on safety standards. A stable body shell is non negotiable and truly should become a mandate from the government. Can't imagine what a complete product it would have been had they give good structural integrity. Since they've skipped any mention of structure improvement or even of structural integrity, it's safe to assume that it is a carry forward from the older generation.
I don't understand why safety, features and reliability are considered mutually exclusive by all these manufacturers. Why one has to give up on one to get the other? It just appears that all these manufacturers are taking Indian consumers for a ride.

Kia has done an entire revamp of all its vehicles. They have stopped offering Diesel MT. Only Diesel iMT is being currently offered. So sad to see it. I had booked the Creta SX(O) Diesel MT and was thinking of switching looking at the new seltos. I really liked the interiors. But no Diesel MT means I'll hold onto my booking.

To me this facelift does not add any value unless the GNCAP safety score is 5 stars, I do not want my family on a vehicle that scores anything less than 5 stars on roads which are the worst in terms of accident statistics.

Its time every car is made to go through rigorous safety testing and the score displayed in bold on a big sticker along with the specs on the rear window, this is done for every car sold in the states and will help educate folks who dont research as much as some enthusiasts do.

Novelty of sunroof, wireless android auto/car play, bigger infotainments etc will die down soon but a good powertrain (which the Seltos has) with a safe structure and top GNCAP score will go a long way in keeping our roads safer, Hope this facelift will be put through the test soon and if it scores 5 stars, It would be the top contender for a car below 25 lakhs.

I liked the front facia. (I liked the Creta's DRL much more though).

The rear bottom profile of the GT version is too over done in my opinion.

Do you all think that the Seltos' panoramic sunroof is shorter in length compared to that of Creta's? Or maybe am just confused cause of camera angles.

It seems to end before the read seat's backrest where as in Creta it goes slightly behind the backrest?

Toyota Hyryder/Suzuki Grand Vitara and now Kia Seltos have length of about 4.37 metres which is just the same as Jeep Compass (4.39 m) and just 6-7 cms less than Mercedes GLA and previous generation BMW X1. So there is really no distinction between these vehicles based on the size and road presence. Now with Kia bringing an 160PS engine, the differences are getting blurred between all these vehicles, more so with BMW offering only FWD drivetrains for the X1.

I would stick out my neck and say that if Kia Seltos scores anything more than a 4 star in GNCAP ratings, there will not be many reasons for most people to go for a GLA/Compass/X1 other than the bragging rights and driving dynamics.

There are many comments here on the safety rating. In the video review of the Seltos facelift by Vlogger Faisal Khan of FasBeam, he has commented that the bonnet is heavy. He does not say the same in his review of the pre-facelift version.

Does that mean Kia has worked on the safety aspect ??? We will know in time I presume, keeping myself positive

Why almost every company stopped giving additional features for MT transmission compared to their iMT/DCT/AT/CVT automatics is really frustrating. As if they deliberately want customers to ditch MT in favor of automatics. All MT models in most companies goes upto only mid level trims in features. I know its convenient for city traffic but still.

A decent upgrade to a highly successful car by Kia. Why fix what ain't broke? The interiors look much more up market now. The screen seems to be shared with the new Verna which means no wireless phone connectivity which is a bummer. That aside , looks like a well rounded package which I am looking forward to test drive. Verna SUV=Seltos?
