The below models are being readied for launch in Indian market.

Audi:
A6 3.0 TDI - 3000cc V6 turbo diesel, 225bhp, 45 lakh
A8 L 3.0 - Petrol (this engine is the most likely contender - but not yet confirmed), 75 lakh
TT 1.8T - 1800cc turbo charged inline 4, 225bhp, Quattro 4WD, 38 lakh
Allroad 2.5TDI - 2500cc V6 turbo diesel, 180bhp, Quattro 4WD, 43 lakh

Porsche:
911 Turbo - twin-turbo 4WD, 420bhp, 1.5 crore
911 - base model also being launched
Cayenne Turbo - 4500cc twin-turbo V8, 450bhp, 1.05 crore
Cayenne V6 - 3200cc V6, 250bhp
Cayenne V8 - 4500cc normally aspirated V8, 340bhp
Boxster S - 3200cc flat 6, 258bhp
Boxster - 2700cc 'boxer' engine, 225bhp, 45 lakh

I'm not too sure about how accurate the bhp figures and the prices are, but these are what the magazine had printed!

Hey Sawan,

Those audi prices are pretty scary IMO !!!..very scary actually...

The porsche prices are more understandable....but 45L for the boxter doesnt seem as good as i had hoped....

i think that the A6 is quite competitively priced at 45 lakhs. taking into account that it is about 200cc's more than the E270cdi. and also around 50bhp more powerful than the merc!
the price of the A8 is too high though - unless they offer the 4.2 litre engine!

for audi to be commercially successful - they need to offer little more then mercedes at a little less than mercedes price!

Great car, way too pricey, should be bracketed between the C and E class in price

A8 L 3.0 - Petrol (this engine is the most likely contender - but not yet confirmed), 75 lakh

Great car but not for India - how many people can repair an aluminuim body bonded on a spaceframe using plasma welding techniques ? A lot of dealers in the UK are daunted by the technology on this car

TT 1.8T - 1800cc turbo charged inline 4, 225bhp, Quattro 4WD, 38 lakh

I heard that they were bringing the plain 1.8 front wheel drive for 25 lakhs - you pay 10 lakhs more for what is an Octavia/ Golf underneath (same platform)

Allroad 2.5TDI - 2500cc V6 turbo diesel, 180bhp, Quattro 4WD, 43 lakh

Being phased out unless they have a stockpile -

Porsche:
911 Turbo - twin-turbo 4WD, 420bhp, 1.5 crore

Where can you drive this car in India and really use its potential ?

911 - base model also being launched

ditto

Cayenne Turbo - 4500cc twin-turbo V8, 450bhp, 1.05 crore
Cayenne V6 - 3200cc V6, 250bhp
Cayenne V8 - 4500cc normally aspirated V8, 340bhp

Bit more sensible

Boxster S - 3200cc flat 6, 258bhp
Boxster - 2700cc 'boxer' engine, 225bhp, 45 lakh

These are more practical and very sweet to drive
my comments in the quotes

Audi are comparitively cheap cars so the price tag for the A8 seems outrageous...like one person before me said..it might be for the 4.2, cuz it doesnt make sense..S500 is more expensive than the A8 4.2 then how can a 3.0 end up being almost up there with the S500

anyhow the A6 is rightly priced in my opion because its than the E and as/more costly than the E, it being more expensive than E240/270 is totaly justified..the pricing seems just fine, except for 911 Turbo..I thought it was almost the same price as the Cayenne Turbo, just about 20k more expesive, so the pricing should be more like 1.25-1.3 rather than 1.5 anyhow I am excited to see these cars on the road..these are some great options for all those ppl in india with money but no options other than the boring mercs/lexus etc..who everyone with money owns..

cheers

Iask you where can you show any cars potential after a certain limit..anything over 150-200 bhp and it doesnt make sense..except you just like to own one..to flaunt or cuz u genuinely like it..or some other reason..maybach doesnt make sense..RR doesnt..hell S500 doesnt too..

most exotics dont make any sense either in the US..where can you drive then..max take it upto 70mph..80 may be..and more than that if u really dont care about the cops..

so these cars are really never used to their full potential practically anywhere in the world..

I had a question, is the E coming to india a V6 cuz if it isnt, paying an additional 7 lakhs for V6 + more space makes sense..and in my opinion the A6 the latest one is much much better than the E..E is crap now..it doesnt have the same pinache as it did before..its like a small luxury car now..just with a big body..would never buy it..
