Volkswagen India has launched the new variants of Virtus and Taigun.

The Virtus 1.5 TSI now gets a manual gearbox option, launched at 16.89 lakh.

Taigun gets GT Plus manual transmission (17.79 lakh) & GT DSG (Rs 16.79 lakh) trims.

VW has also launched the GT Edge Limited Collection, offering the Virtus and Taigun in new shades.

That is good pricing for the 1.5 TSI + MT in Virtus :Cheering:

With more than 1.5 lakhs of ex-showroom difference to DSG this has more than one USP on its hand.

I hope it does well and and then we have a 1.5 + MT on a lower variant too...probably just the GT (not GT Plus) with those analog dials and few less gizmos!

GT in lower trim is only for Taigun and not for Virtus? Wonder what is the logic!

The interior looks a bit different. Buttons have been moved.

Not just the buttons, the whole layout looks different. The dash is not angled towards the driver in the first picture, and even the AC vents look different. Are you sure these are the same cars?

Second image is the Virtus I drive everyday. The first is the image I plucked from Volkswagen India’s virtus page. The dash is much sleeker and the aircon vents look better gelled into the fascia.

Looks like a goof up at VW end, the top one is certainly Taigun. Both pages for Taigun and Virtus special editions show the same interior picture.

The dash which is not angled is of the Taigun’s. Interior trim in the first pic is the same as the current Taigun GT Plus.

I have booked a Virtus 1.5TSI DSG GT Edge Edition in Deep Black color. I am told the delivery is expected between mid-July and August beginning.

The interiors in Edge Edition Brochure seem to be Taigun GT Edge only and not the Virtus. I had this clarified from the dealership too.

I wish they gave the All-black interiors too in the Edge edition. A black roof and pillars would have been really nice :D

We wanted to check out the recently launched GT DSG version of the Taigun (not the GT Plus DSG), but none of the dealers here in Kerala have it or are willing to place an order for it, they say this has to be ordered online through the VW website, (they say they have quite a few 2022 and 2023 BS6-1 cars still in stock). I was quite surprised on this behaviour from VW sales personnel.

Yes, all ads for the "limited editions" mention that they have to be booked from the VW Indai website only.

Did any one start seeing the GT Edge edition on the road? I am yet to see one in the flesh here in Kerala.

I am told my car would reach the yard this weekend positively. And if yes I could take delivery in the next few days.

My Virtus GT Edge edition has arrived in the dealership. Here's the photograph. Probably this could be the first customer post on web :D

You need to book online paying INR25,000 advance to VW and choose your preferred dealership in your booking. That's it. Rest of the settlements with your dealership once the car arrives.

Not a value proposition in our case, as we don't want the Edge edition but wanted the GT DSG, A stripped down GT Plus DSG, so considering the huge inventory of GT Plus DSG in stock and the huge offers available which brings down the prices almost to the level of the GT DSG, we decided why not get the fully loaded trim!
