To my knowledge, there is around 2.5-3.0L difference in the ex-showroom cost of the GT vs GT plus variant. How much discount did you get on the GT plus?

We got a good 2 lakh discount for the GT Plus DSG variant, for the BS6 Phase 1 variant bringing down the difference between the GT DSG and the GT Plus DSG to around 40k.

Can you tell me which showroom is sitting on so much GT PLUS DSG stock, that too with a 2L discount?

Even autocarindia had reported discounts of upto 1.4 lakhs on the Taigun last month, I personally know some of the employees at Phoenix Cars dealership of VW in Kerala, and when EVM (the other dealership of VW) offered me around 1.75 lakhs discount, I showed the same to the dealers at Phoenix and they bumped up my discount to 2 lakhs.

Even now, they have official offers to the tune of 1.4 lakhs, but limited to some variants only as they have mostly liquidated their BS6-Phase 1 inventory.

You could try to get the maximum discount by comparing quotes from EVM and Phoneix, but considering both of them have liquidated most of their old inventory by June, it's a tough call to get to the discount levels I have received. Being opportunistic helps in the market nowadays as with slow-selling models like VW/Skoda, Jeep etc where dealers are trying their best to liquidate older inventory, you just have to be at the right place at the right time.

The case is similar in Skoda's case as well with EVM, Gem-Phoenix, and PPS all offering great discounts on the Kushaq as well during the Aptril-June period.

Moreover, for another family member of mine, we were able to arrange a good 2.6 lakh discount on the Jeep Compass Petrol AT as well, which was discontinued earlier this year along with insurance and service package at no additional cost.

This discount is very much needed, as the older BS6.1 engine is not E20 materials compliant. If I were you, I would put that amount in an FD for when the time comes.

Similar story over at Jeep, where in addition, everyone knew that the 1.4 turbo petrol engine was going to be discontinued outright.

It's just a special edition, so no major changes are likely in the interior as such. Unless a facelift or update is launched, I don't expect any changes.

VW has launched a GT DSG spec in their highline variant. But is there any chance if they would launch a GT MT in highline variant?

Oh come on Volkswagan, you can’t cheat the customers that too the target audience of your brand by giving all these small touch ups.
The competition is marching ahead with some very useful features like 360 camera, dual tone aircon, auto hold brakes etc…
You already have the inherent con of a small size and the DSG demon.
Remove the gaudy chrome in the front, bring some useful features and upgrade the quality of interiors in order to maintain the sales.

"Trail Edition"??? What immediately came to my mind was the thought of DSG nightmare and getting stranded in a jungle. VW... just get the basics right first.

Unless they've given any sort of 4WD system to this "Trail Edition", it is just another pointless variant from VW

In the images, those look like the same "Belmont" wheels that come on the Highline and GT variants, painted in black. In which case, they would 16-inch and not 17-inch wheels.
