4 wheeled Minidor Spotted in Mumbai

Guys,

While coming back from work today, i spotted 2 yellow 4 wheeled mindor which were awaiting their turn at the Mumbai Check Post (Dahisar). They looked much bigger than the Ace or Truk, and huge loading bay. However, the doors have been fitted on the body shape and look out of proportion and are tiny. The tires are also the same (read that as small). No clue about power or pricing though.

Apologies for not providing snaps as it I don't have a cam phone.

Tushky,
Your Prey, over to you

Yeah, I'd seen a four-wheeler Minidor six months ago on Mumbai-Pune expressway. I'd mentioned it one of the Tata Ace threads.

Now, where did you spot it again?

The doors are really MINI. But look at the way those are fitted to the body!! Man! ACE is far better finished. Or these may be just test prototypes and the final product may be better finished. I hope!

The 4th wheel should have been there from the day 1, its just that they have woken upto the Ace. But then the target does not care about the better fit and finish that ACE offers, this one looks to be able to pull off bigger payload and thats all that matters.

If they can offer more luggage capability for less, they'll have a winner.

Saw it at the Auto Expo.

It doesn't look too bad but yes Ace is better finished. Where the M4 scores over the ACE is in suspension which is independent all-round for better crew comfort and lesser spillage/breakage in the load.

Ace doesn't have independent suspension even at the front and while that's good for tyre life, the crew must be having a tough time on bad roads. Even 207DI, a goods carrier, has independent front suspension.

Being single cylinder, M4 would continue to suffer from excessive NVH levels and that's where the ACE scores.
