Re: Jeep introduces assured buyback & extended warranty scheme

"Why is there no petrol in your portfolio?"

"Diesel gives a very different driving experience."

Jeep introduces assured buyback & extended warranty scheme-padhil.jpg

(translation - this is not the answer to my question, right?)

I am totally in love with the Meridian but it continues to be out of reach budget-wise. Hope they are able to reduce the pricing. Test drove the top end a year ago and it was a very nice vehicle.

This interview by autocar tells us a lot about the jeep attitude. I will re-iterate , jeep will cease to exist within the next 5 years.
What was the need for this interview? To introduce the new Jeep Head to India? I can understand why Autocar india interviewed him, they may have assumed that there would some sort of news about fresh launches or new petrol engine etc. But why did this person do the interview when he had absolutely nothing to say?

As someone who just bought a Jeep Compass 10 months ago, listening to this interview was scary. As long as Jeep sells engines to Tata, we are sort of safe, when that stops then its game over for Jeep in india.

One of the most dullest and un-inspiring interviews ever. Becomes all the more disappointing when you realise this is coming from the leader of a lifestyle vehicle manufacturer in the country.

Compare this with the interview PowerDrift shot with Mahindra couple of years back. The vision, approach and clarity of thought is just next level. Now this is how you build your brand and become a market-maker.

Could it be that Jeep India asked Autocar to conduct this interview with Hormazd for a fee?
The guy probably wanted to use all the marketing words he learnt from his Kellogg MBA in this interview.
No offence meant to MBA’s or marketing folks but just that the guy spoke so much fluff and gave circular answers.

So I was not the only one who looked at his LinkedIn profile

Yeah it was quite a strange interview frankly. Contrast it with some of the more" tech" interviews with the TML folks by Hormazd in recent times.

Hahahahahahahaha!!!

What an interview! Early morning laughter dose!
The poor fellow has been brought in to blame in the final lap of the organization in India.
Hold on to your chequebooks folks! I'm sure some lucky few of you all might be able to snap up a wrangler rubicon with a 20L discount very soon. Maybe in an years time.

Looks like Jeep guy talked like a broken record and did not answer questions. Chat GPT could have done better

Re: Jeep introduces assured buyback & extended warranty scheme

Listened to the interview today. What I heard was eerily similar to what was being said before Ford India packed their bags. Totally agree that they are on their last legs here.

At least Ford India had the courtesy to lie that they will be investing X amount in India, not even that from Mr. Jairaj. Continuing on and on about the Customer, Brand, Trust, and a load of other excrements like a broken record. It would have instilled a lot more trust in the stakeholders had he just NOT done the interview and just used their PR channels to market the buyback scheme aggressively.

Re: Jeep introduces assured buyback & extended warranty scheme

All these ‘paid executives’ are merely managers. Regardless of what company and/ or service they represent. If they don’t use or love their own product, how can they do justice when selling it to others?
This Jairaj fellow comes across as ‘Not a Jeep Guy’.
Enough Said.

Re: Jeep introduces assured buyback & extended warranty scheme

Was thinking of test driving the Meridian this weekend. Will save my energy.

There is really no replacement of the Storme in the market now.

Re: Jeep introduces assured buyback & extended warranty scheme

Mr. Jairaj's stated priorities

1. Increase brand desirability
2. Build trust with stakeholders
3. Energize the team

His priorities should rather be

1. Discontinue the Compass, take the last row off the Meridian, and relaunch it as the new Compass. Can continue to offer the Meridian as the 7 seater Compass.
2. Get the Petrol in damn fast - this time with a good transmission
3. Fix the dealership shenanigans!

I disagree about discontinuing the compass. Not everyone wants a huge car.

Re: Jeep introduces assured buyback & extended warranty scheme

As much as Hormazd tried, all he had in response was corporate BS !

Honestly, I expect Stellantis to put all their focus on Citroen and Jeep will be the forgotten step child with a minimal niche presence.
