Indonesia: Citroen C3 Aircross 6-speed automatic unveiled

Citroen has showcased the C3 Aircross automatic at the ongoing Indonesia International Auto Show. The car is equipped with a 6-speed automatic gearbox, which is expected to be offered in India in the near future.

The Indonesia-spec C3 Aircross is powered by a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine. It is the same engine offered in India but generates slightly more torque. The engine produces 109 BHP and 205 Nm@ 1,750 rpm. The 6-speed automatic comes with a manual mode but misses out on paddle shifters.

The rest of the car looks identical to the India-spec C3 Aircross. The SUV has a dual-tone exterior featuring a white roof and white inserts on the front bumper, a split grille design with strips of LED daytime running lights on either side and 4-spoke alloy wheels.

Inside, the C3 Aircross automatic gets a dual-tone dashboard with a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 3-spoke steering wheel with a digital instrument cluster. Interestingly, automatic climate control isn't available on this version either.

Hope they launch the automatic in India without much delay. This would be the perfect no nonsense car. And hope they add climate control too. Lack of other features I can live with.

Max torque of 205 Nm is a very healthy number and would help the C3 Aircross feel as brisk as the manual if not more in my opinion. I hope Citroen India does the same for it's C3 hatch as well. It would up the ease of driving factor without hampering the fun element.

Am assuming its a torque convertor? That would be nice. Power & specially torque figure seem par for the course.

@Citreon you need to do 3 things now:

1. Bring this to India ASAP.
2. Before launch get it GNCAP tested and score atleast 4*(with stable bodyshell), that would be a solid USP compared to market leaders(their only but huge con).
3. Have a mouth watering launch price to gain traction, even if it means keeping minimal margins. As it is, feature-wise its anyways barebones, so dont try to price it anywhere close to Creta/Seltos.

Only new thing that we are going to get is probably more airbags. Auto gearbox is still 6 months away.

Price will be good but not mouth watering. I am expecting somewhere around 12-13 exshowroom.
