Re: Filed an RTI regarding E20 fuel: Partial reply received

If it helps anyone, I went to Hindustan Petroleum Fuel station, Bokaro Steel City Jharkhand yesterday. I saw the E20 dispenser separately installed. I talked to the manager and checked the fuel received /order book which shows all fuel being E15 including the 95 one. So I suppose there's no E10 being supplied by Hindustan Petroleum.

HPCL Bokaro depot provides E15 and E20 rated fuels. HPCL, Deoghar depot in tieup with IOCL till last month was supplying E12, now shifted to E15.
Both normal Petrol and branded Petrol Power are same E15 rated.
They are pushing hard for E20.

Every monsoon is a big test for the aging infrastructure of oil company outlets. Let's see how this one goes.

I came across this today. They've very diplomatically suggested the 20% will damage older cars, and that fuel components "may be changed" at service level.

Noob question: Is E-Diesel available in India (15% E), or is it just petrol?

Currently only petrol. IOC has been able to produce 5% blended diesel, so it's only matter of time.

Re: Filed an RTI regarding E20 fuel: Partial reply received

Is there a way to file a class action law suit against the MoPNG ? Whoever took the decision to shove > E10 petrol down the throats of the consumers surely knew that this will harm the engine / mechanical components for vehicles manufactured before April 2023 but still decided to push through(not because they care for the environment, but to reduce import bills by adultering the product by adding ethanol and still charge the same amount).

We are surely becoming a banana republic. Someone wakes up from a dream some day and suddenly decides to do this, not being bothered about the impact on the millions of vehicles already running on the streets.

Re: Filed an RTI regarding E20 fuel: Partial reply received

I recently visited a nearby Bharat and HP petrol pump. Spoke with both managers.

HP- He claimed all HP petrol pumps currently have E20 petrols. He claimed that Bharat petrol may still have E10 fuels.

Bharat- The manager claimed that his and most other Bharat petrol bunks are dispensing E10 fuel.

Is anyone else aware if the Bharat petroleum is indeed having E10 fuel across its fuel bunks?
