MG Motor India has announced the launch of the Astor Blackstorm. The special edition SUV is priced at Rs 14,47,800 (ex-showroom).



The Astor Blackstorm features an all-black exterior with a black honeycomb grille, smoked headlamps, black roof rails and door garnish as well as black alloy wheels with red brake calipers. The SUV also gets 'Blackstorm' badges on the front fenders.



Inside, the Astor Blackstorm gets a Tuxedo Black upholstery with red stitching, Sangria Red AC vents and JBL speakers. Other features include a panoramic sunroof, electronic power steering with three modes, heated ORVMs and a digital key with Bluetooth; among others.



The Astor Blackstorm is powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that makes 108 BHP and 144 Nm. It is paired with either a 5-speed manual or a CVT.

The most under rated car in the Indian market now TBH. How I wish they would have offered this with the Turbo AT as well and not just restrict to CVT.

The Alloy wheels are actually from the Super and Smart variants, which are base+1 and base+2 variants, not from the Sharp or Savvy ones, which are top-1 and top variants, which are quite disappointing as the wheel feel like a huge letdown.

The interior seats are actually fabric, not leather. The red insert looks like coke cans (stated by another BHPian too) and they are like 'right on your face'.

Does the car really get JBL speakers? If yes, thank you MG for giving us branded speakers! Nexon is offering 9 speakers, while Astor only has 6 .

Nonetheless, waiting to look at it in person when the car arrives in dealerships. Hope a TeamBHP's review will also be posted?.

Hey guys, any idea of we can swap the grille of the normal one for the grille of the Blackstorm edition? I really hate the chrome studs in the Savvy variant, and want to get the all black one for my ride. Also, can anyone confirm if the car really get JBL speakers? If yes, can we switch from the normal speakers to these ones?
