Highly unlikely. Facelifts usually have no major structural changes (which would be needed to liberate significant space inside).

Its more likely that those big chunky silver bits on the front and rear bumpers are adding about 3 cms each to the overall length of the car.

Re: Hyundai Alcazar facelift spied testing in India. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 14.99 lakh

I would have liked to see a bump in diesel engine power/ torque outputs.
If the strategy is to keep it low profile vis-a-vis the petrol, why bother with the engine at all. 116ps is strictly adequate for the Alcazar.

He is probably implying that the photographer finds the car ideal to carry all the photography equipment and at the same time double up as a family/personal car.

Liked the facelift design and the prices. I wish they would bring the butter smooth 2L petrol engine back.

Carens Premium(O) with same 1.5 turbo and with IMT gearbox is around 12.55 ex. showroom.

Rather, the car is up to his photographer's level, and not up to his liking :P
I doubt someone with a net worth upwards of Rs. 7000 crore would consider this for his garage!

Looks like left side tail lamp has already malfunctioned. Even tail pipe looks odd.

Re: Hyundai Alcazar facelift spied testing in India. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 14.99 lakh

Previous Alcazar used to start from 16.77L for petrol and 17.78L for diesel. The base version was kitted well, but this new one is starting from 15L and 16L, effectively undercutting previous base version by 1.75L! What could be the differentiators?

1. Panoramic sunroof for sure. Max 1L cost?
2. LED lights / diamond cut alloy etc are standard, same as before.
3. Maybe speakers?

Wonder where is this saving coming from, and that makes me curious about pricing of higher models too.

https://www.hyundai.com/in/en/find-a...cazar/features

Variant-wise feature list is out.

- Executive misses out on a stereo system(!) and some frills but covers all the other basics
- Signature is fully loaded as expected
- Prestige or Signature seem like the ones to go for (depending on prices)
- Omissions in the diesel variant are strange (hinting at aggressive pricing?)

Prices are still not out. Are they still deciding based on response?

Re: Hyundai Alcazar facelift spied testing in India. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 14.99 lakh

No front seats ventilation on an otherwise well equipped Prestige variant is disappointing. Now just to get that one important feature for our hot and humid climate, one will have to jump to the top Signature variant which will be expensive. But then the top variant comes with front passenger electric seat adjustment and memory seat function which are a great set of features.

The pricing will be the key.

If you ask me, the previous version made no sense at all. Second row space was abysmal, especially because of that seat mounted stupid air purifier. I hope that has been rectified now. The previous Alcazar had no USP.

I feel with thicker 2nd row seats (captain-seat version), the 3rd row seats will be even more cramped than before! And I have a feeling the 7Str variants will continue with the same bench as before and not see any of the upgrades that the 6Str version with captain seats gets.
Hi, as predicted in my post above, Alcazar is longer & wider (4560mm length, 1800mm width & 1710, real world could be 1670mm). I am hopeful that Alcazar will have slightly more knee room in 2nd & 3rd row. Pricing is excellent against the available features.

While the redesigned Creta was mature and pleasing to the eye, this one somehow looks like a Chinese work. Those bumper garnishes are over-done.

Re: Hyundai Alcazar facelift spied testing in India. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 14.99 lakh

Isn't this costly? I think it's costly by at least 1.5-2 Lakhs. Hyundai being greedy here with the success of new Creta. Diesel base model is 16 Lakhs ex showroom, means it will be around 19 Lakhs on road which is high IMHO. Top end will be close to 28-30 Lakhs OTR I guess which is very high. Mahindra XUV 700 looks better buy with it's 2.2 L diesel motor which is any day better than Hyundai 1.5 L.
