Re: Volkswagen Virtus GT Plus Matte Edition priced at Rs 17.62 lakh

I checked with PPS motors asc here in Kolkata and while they didn’t offer to install a 360 camera setup, they did say if it’s done outside without wire cutting they won’t void the warranty. I don’t have this in writing though.

They are a reputed dealer in my city and the prices quoted were part of the extended accessories package for the Virtus. This also included dual tone horn, pedal changes, puddle lamps, blackened OVRMs and so on. Since the dealer will be installing them, I'm not too worried about voiding my warranty.

Infact the 360 degree camera setup VW offers through their service center is an after market one. The after market implementation is very good, the camera on the ORVMs get activated when you switch on the indicators & you can manually switch on the 360 camera in tight spots.
So is there a dedicated button (perhaps on the gear console) which turns on the 360 camera whenever required? I heard, but cannot confirm that the camera is also activated when putting in reverse gear. When the camera is activated, does it take over the ICE and not show the navigation system if I'm connected with AA or CarPlay?

Whatever after market 360 installs I have seen are just not worth it, the angles are odd and even the integration with car software is clunky

Can you elaborate more about the camera as I am also planning to install it in my virtus?
If possible where did you intall them from and how is the result of the camera system in comparison to company fitted in other brands like Hyundai or Suzuki.
I wrote an email to costumer care about voiding warrenty but no answer from them.

It's an aftermarket fitment, the quality is very good IMO, visuals at night are good as well, a well lit street is clear & dark streets are captured decently.

It's on par with most OEM 360 degree cameras, however, the display area on the head unit is limited just like the stock camera.

You get a remote to control the 360 camera, switch it on manually, cycle through all the cameras is also an option. It does activate when you put the car in reverse. The side cameras on the ORVMs get activated when you switch on the respective indicator.
Yes it takes over the ICE when the camera is activated.

Did you get 360 degree camera installed from Carsonics Hyderabad? The reason is I tried to reach Carsonics to get details and pricing of 360 degree camera after watching his YouTube videos but did not get any ballpark estimates.
