Sedans any day, because of elegance, practicality and price. |
Just curious, isn't price a negative for sedans? Considering how much decent sedans cost these days?

Yes, this depends on what's on offer.
I think SUVs are more expensive,
all other factors being same.
This would be due to the added weight, (bigger tyres, larger fuel consumption, more steel...) and the expectation of SUVs to be able to tow.
Sedans on the other hand are expensive usually due to upselling for luxury features (leather, quality of plastics)....
SUVs for me ! as our roads are getting unpredictable, some or other road maintenance will always be in progress in the name of development and SUVs can manage them better. Also, they are better for navigating off-road situations in our village areas.
peace
Can’t vote as yet. Would vote for sedan anytime, more linked to my fast driving nature and the love for the shape. Especially sedans with high gc are my liking. I was very keen on volvo S60 XC since the shape is as per my liking, can go anywhere and with a high GC of 201mm
The four car brands that have always been closest to my heart are Jaguar, Aston Martin, Porsche and Ferrari. These manufacturers have consistently made the most beautiful cars in my opinion. Till a roughly couple of decades ago, none of these cars had any SUVs or other types of vehicles on offer. So it is obvious that I have a clear liking for coupes, convertibles, saloon cars (sedans) and sportbacks.
And I put my money where my mouth is. I have never bought anything other than saloons.
I like the following body types on vehicles.
Hatchback - for its practical zippy nature
SUV - for its go anywhere ability and carrying capacity
Crossover - for its practicality and comfort.
Convertible - for its style quotient
Ive owned / presently own, all of the above types except for the convertible.
And Ive driven all of the above types extensively both in India and abroad.
Suffice it to say I just basically like Automobiles.
Could not vote as do not have an option for "other/all".
Any automobile which is enjoyable to drive, I love it, body styles do not matter to me much.
I have a Swift, a GT TSI and an Innova and I am equally exited to drive each of them everytime I pick the keys of one.
I test drove a variety of automobiles including SUVs, sedans, crossovers etc, and whichever I enjoyed driving I liked it.
Amongst the cars that are fun to drive, the only differentiating factor for me is the quality and premium feel that a car can give at a price point.
Cheers.
Over half of the BHPians have mentioned sedans which is very different from the market characteristics. We really aren't a representative bunch w.r.t the market lol:
I always had a soft corner for SUVs and the Endeavour has had me smitten for a long time now. However, my present runabout, a Jetta TDI Highline with a Stage 1 remap, keeps me grinning ear to ear during my daily 60 km commute. The convenience of a fast automatic transmission, frugal nature of the 2.0 diesel mill, performance at the tap of the throttle and the overall dynamics of a sure-footed European built car has made me convert to sedans. There is something about the Jetta that makes me fall in love over and over again with the car. Too bad that the NGT ruling on diesel cars in NCR will make me part ways with it in about a year. Hope to get a fitting replacement soon !
Voted for sedan. :thumbs up
