The cars are still pretty new, so I guess we haven't yet seen any issues. I like to keep my cars for a long time, so I don't want to take that big risk of owning a car with a gearbox that costs 10% of the car to repair. There are enough stories on here about that gearbox so I'm not convinced.

I drive 2015 Vento with a DSG, no issues. And like I said not a single incident of DSG issues have been reported on this forum for the VAG 2.0 cars so calling the gearbox unreliable in its current form is not correct. That was my limited point.

Good stock clearance stunt by Skoda. Risers definitely will pick these up and help.

Do you think this launch of Monte Carlo edition is in preparation for the actual facelift?

Saw a news article saying the facelift launch will now be delayed till 2026, while others are still sticking with an early 2025 launch.

I am okay with waiting 4 months for the facelift but 16 months would be too much. What do you think?

Absolutely. I am in a similar dilemma. I’m looking to upgrade my humble 1.2 NA petrol Ford Aspire 2015 model. The blue oval has clocked 58k km in exactly 9 years of ownership (Nov 15 is the anniversary). And, absolutely zero rattles till date, cabin looks airy and fresh in that beige colour till date and the dynamics is just awesome. And, it also accommodates 3 medium seized adults with decent comfort. It’s a comfortable ride in the city and a pleasure to drive on the highway with a cruising speed of 100 kph).

The primary motivation for the upgrade is to have more horses under the hood with a fun to drive quotient. Ford petrol is definitely not great in terms of sheer power delivery. Slavia ticks most boxes and I am thinking to upgrade within a month. If the facelift is going to be launched only in 2026, I’ll be happily upgrading now. If it is going to be in Q1, I am fine to wait for few more months. Any qualified news that is available from the Czech automaker regarding the facelift? There was a minor hint in one of the recent interviews from Petr Janeba that 2025 will be show time for Skoda Kushaq facelift with points of differentiation with Kylaq.

I really want the VAG group to do well and I’m so delighted to see the brand in action with Kylaq launch which should bring in 3k to 4K incremental avg monthly unit dispatches. And, if they are going to expand their touch points from 260 to 350 in a year, this should be a cakewalk for them as 30 units per new dealer per month should add 3k units easily. This launch has improved my overall trust in Skoda wanting to do well in India and they seem to be committed to our market. As my wife calls it, she thinks I’m more excited about the launch of Kylaq than Skoda folks are right now.

This Kylaq launch has pulled me back in to their showroom with more confidence. I have been to their showroom for more than a year now, but didn’t have enough trust up until this point. I wish they also increase their service network and not only the sales touch points to sustain the momentum that they will get with Kylaq.

Please wait till year end regardless, there will be good offers for previous year manufactured cars (unless you are not really into buying it). Then there is the 24th of month offer on skoda's website, not very predictable though but offers are sometimes too good to be true. Doesn't hurt to keep an eye out on their X/twitter handle for updates on offer. The only thing there is you need to really know the variant you want. Better to test drive it before hand and wait for the offers (either year end or their offers on website booking).

There will also be more visibility on whether they are doing a facelift or adding a few additional features & either way you will be able to get discounts on cars that don't yet have the new features.

But going by what Petr Janeba mentioned , it seems like Slavia facelift will be only in 2026, or is it 2025 second half ? Am I missing something here? If it is more than a year out, I don’t think that I can prolong my upgrade bug that has been biting me for a long time already. Here’s the link to the video https://youtu.be/8L4NqC0nCJ8?t=362&si=tVdfppWck6_E_kOW

They did couple of changes in late 2023, early 2024, things like electric seats (not there in 2023), sub-woofer & amplifier, reduction of screen size and then increase of screen size etc..

Waiting for the year end (another couple of months), to have more visibility into it and possibly get discounts regardless of features are added or not.

The CEO(on autocar) also talked about they also have something in store about clearly differentiating kushaq and kylaq. I am assuming this is either some feature additions &/or a facelift. The statements and the media news has been kinda mixed.

Not suggesting to wait until the facelift, only till year end to get better offer.
