Skoda Kushaq Onyx AT is available now at 13.49L in the Skoda India website.
Comes with a lot of features too along with AT box like auto AC, rear wiper, paddle shifters and standard safety kit. Ventilated seats also shown in pics.
Skoda India

Any idea if the Onyx variant gets the rear AC vents ?
There seems to be a trend among major OEMs to launch VFM variants. Am sure this has to do with inventory pile-up or slowing demand. Tata did it with Nexon, Mahindra is continuing to do it with XUV 7OO (MX Auto variant) is on the cards.
Overall, good times for the consumer!

That’s a goof up from Skoda side for sure, the pictures shown there are of Slavia Style (notice- the seat colours).
Tiptronic gearbox --Torque converter in Skoda ----This is definitely a positive move for the VW Group, and hopefully good times are ahead for their cars --wonder this transmission is from AISIN or ZF transmission.

Skoda 1.0 TSI AT's are from AISIN, which is already doing duty in Ambition and Style Trims.
Great news for someone looking for sub-15 Lakh OTR automatic car. And now with proven TC unit, This will be a fun city car.
Today's car prices are crazy. Even the newly launched XUV300 1.2L MX3 AT model cost 13.84L ex-showroom with exactly the same AISIN sourced AT. In that comparison, Kushaq is definitely a much better product and a value for money proposition. This 6 speed TC from AISIN is fairly popular in sub compact segment with new XUV300, Grand Vitara, Brezza, Fronx, Citroen C3, Astor Turbo and other VW group offerings and they all have been fairly reliable with no major issues reported.
The only major miss in this variant is the lack of a bigger touchscreen. This one gets a smaller low-res 7 inch touchscreen with wired AA and CP. Even then, this is the most VFM pick of the range.

The other omission is cruise control. It is a must have to enjoy automatic cars on long journeys. If Skoda had provided this feature, push button start and wireless android auto and Apple car play, the onyx AT would have easily become the perfect small automatic SUV around the 15 lakh on-road price point.
I was checking the ELEVATE V CVT pricing, which is at 13.70L for 2024 model.
The feature list is so long for a well priced variant and still people not buying these cars. Wonder what's wrong, the issue is with manufacturers or dealers or customers?
Few key features :
6 airbags , 3 point seat belts and 5 headrests
8" screen with wireless AA & CP
Auto AC
Keyless entry
Push button start
LED headlamps
7" TFT instrument cluster
CVT with paddle shifters
60:40 split seats
Driver seat height adjustable
Reach and rake adjustable steering etc what an incredible variant.
ELEVATE
Total sales of ELEVATE , TAIGUN & KUSHAQ were around 4200 units in May 2024 !

This gearbox is slowly becoming the national autobox of sorts for India. Pretty much all mainstream models in India use this gearbox as their auto option. VW/Skoda, Maruti/Toyota, Citroen, Mahindra, Tata... they all use the 6 speed torque converter from Aisin in their models. I heard on a podcast somewhere that Aisin should localise the manufacturing to lower prices.

Yes, all Kushaq variants right from Active get rear AC vents.
Skoda seems to have deleted the leather /fabric premium seats offered in Onyx earlier. The non-Style models have really poor quality of seat fabric and adds further blandness in the cabin though nothing that a seat cover cant fix.

That podcast is by Autocar India and is named Deep Drive. Hormazd has very good insider details, which he reveals/speaks about in that podcast.

+1 to cruise control. Having done a ~7500 km return trip to North East from Bangalore in a car without cruise control, I realized how important this feature is on long road trips. It considerably reduces driver fatigue, ensures consistent speed and significantly improved FE.
