Great to see the Elevate (WR-V) in Japan doing good numbers, better than what they do in India, meanwhile the Jimny is always doing good abroad but failed in India, the Fronx ain't in a bad position considering the market, however it has done exceptionally well here.

So yes, some cars are hits in India while they miss in Japan and vice versa.

Just to note. I think you meant that "one man's trash is another man's treasure." But there is nothing trash here, so I guess dust counts.

I don't have data, but the sheer number of less than 3 year old cars in the used market is a marker.

My first car is a 2007 Honda City. Bought it as a 16 year old second hand car and the intent was to just get a good grip on driving before purchasing my actual car. However, Covid had some other plans and it would be a while before I could buy my second car. In between this 15+ year old City drove me, my wife and my dogs around India covering nearly 50k kms, without any breakdown ever. I have been amazed at its comfort, reliability and its ease of driving. Never giving up on Honda.
