Countdown begins for Mitsubishi Outlander

There is a good news for all Mitsubishi lovers! ACI reports that HM is preparing Outlander for Q3/Q4 launch of Outlander. Finally a true handsome competition to CRV is on cards!

Here are few highlights:
1) Mivec 2.4 Liter with 170 BHP (May get detuned for India)
2) Premium music system (Rockford?)
3) 5 seater only (3rd row of seating being lost due to spare tyre regulation in India)
4) Great suspension package to give smoother ride with good handling.

And the biggest news it, it is going to be assembled not imported to India. This would mean a price tag lower than CRV!

Generally high end cars in other countries have run flat tyres. Due to this, the spare tyre is not of standard size but a smaller one which is just meant to take you to the nearest repair point. This saves space while packaging.

However Indian regulations do not acknowledge the advancement in tyre technology and hence require the manufacturer to provide a standard spare tyre. This takes up valuable space inside the vehicle and compromises on the packaging. I think BMW faced this issue while coming to India.
