2. Jeep Compass New (For highway drives) - 30 Lacs.

3. Maruti Ignis New (For day to day city drive) - 8 Lacs.

4. RE Shotgun 650 cc (For highway rides) - 5 Lacs.

5. Suzuki V storm 250 cc (For daily city use) - 2.5 Lacs.

Rest money I will keep for petrol and maintenance and trip expenses

I would really like to get a Grand Cherokee, even though the India spec model is both overpriced and under powered, seriously 2 liter engine on an SUV that size seems like an odd choice. But then I wouldn't be left enough money to buy anything else decent.



Realistically speaking:
1. A compact "SUV" for city driving (like a Creta/Seltos)
2. A rugged SUV like the Thar Roxx
4. A small EV like the WagonR/Tiago EV for the old city.
3. A Ducati Supersport 950

Put the rest of money in a fund that provides enough returns to spend on maintenance and fuel above for the above.

It got me thinking — with all the options available today, both new and pre-owned, what would your ideal 2-car garage look like right now with a total budget of ₹1 crore?

Here’s the twist:

You must pick two cars (not one, not three).

You can go all-new, all pre-owned, or a mix.

Any brand, any segment — as long as it fits the budget.

Bonus if you explain why, you chose them — whether it’s practicality, performance, nostalgia, peace of mind, or just vibes.

To kick things off — here’s what I would go for:

BMW M6 Gran Coupe (Pre-owned) – This is my absolute dream pick in the ₹60–70L bracket. The proportions, the road presence, the screaming 4.4L V8, the way it balances elegance and aggression — it’s a proper four-door missile with a soul. There’s just something timeless about the M6 GC that newer M cars don’t quite capture anymore.

Skoda Octavia/Superb 2.0 TDI DSG (Pre-owned) – With the remaining budget, I’d go hunting for the cleanest example of the diesel Octavia or Superb with that legendary 2.0 TDI + DSG combo. For daily duties, long highway hauls, and sheer driving comfort with efficiency, these cars still hit the sweet spot. Smooth, fast enough, and frugal — they’re hard to beat even today.

That’s my mix — one for the heart, one for the head. I think together they’d cover every mood and every need, from caffeine-loaded Sunday runs to peaceful commutes or cross-country cruising.

Given how diverse this forum is — from highway mile munchers to Sunday tarmac lovers and everything in between — I think it’ll be really insightful (and fun) to see what combinations everyone comes up with.

So… ₹1 crore. Two cars. Go crazy but keep it smart.

Would like to update my garage in mid 2025 now that I am 40.

Car 1: BMW M340i (approx 75 lacs ex-showroom): Reserved for special occasions, weekends and highways.

Car 2: BYD Atto3 (ev for city use and short intercity trips). Fun at 0-100 in 7.3 seconds, economy of an EV and does not feel odd when stepping out of the M and getting inside the Atto3.

If not an ev, then Car 2 would a significant contrast i.e. XUV7OO AT. Reason is that XUV can be a good highway replacement to M during odd destinations with rough roads, has great interiors and is punchy enough at almost 200bhp. Not an ideal city car though but still I wouldnt mind it parking in city spaces as much (compared to the M).
