Renault has introduced the updated Kiger and Triber range for the 2025 model year. Both models now get new features across all variants. Prices start at Rs 6.10 lakh (ex-showroom).



The 2025 editions of the Renault Kiger and Triber are equipped with four power windows and remote central locking as standard.

All variants starting from the RXL trim get an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a rearview camera, and steering-mounted controls.

The RXT (O) variant of the Kiger and the RXT variant of the Triber now feature flex wheels, while the top-spec RXZ Turbo variant of the Kiger gets a smart access card with remote engine start.



Both the Kiger and Triber are now E-20 compliant. The Kiger is available with a 999cc, 3-cylinder petrol engine producing 71 BHP @ 6,250 rpm and 96 Nm @ 3,500 rpm and a 999cc turbo-petrol that puts out 99 BHP @ 5,000 rpm and 160 Nm @ 2,800-3,600 rpm. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual, 5-speed AMT and CVT.

The Triber is offered with the same 999cc naturally aspirated petrol as the Kiger. It is mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT.

I am of the opinion that Renault has to kick things up a notch, in order to survive in the market. These measly upgrades and competitive pricing, wont cut it, long term.

This is my first post on the forum. Thank you moderators and team for approving my membership. I was expecting they might provide the turbo 1 L engine in the triber. It was a much required update, a missed opportunity.

Totally agree. They could have used this update to introduce "sunroof" in Kiger and Triber. This would have notched up things to a great extent.

Triber needs - AT, Sunroof and Cruise Control!

The triber needs a refined diesel or petrol engine with higher CC IMHO. It is a car that is supposedly marked for touring and long rides. A simple turbocharged diesel, would have enabled it to rival with the likes of Kia carens. Quite frankly, a 1L turbo engine, cannot be enjoyed fully, predominantly due to the body type.

Agreed. While i consider this to be bells and whistles (minus cruise control), this might also appeal to the comfort oriented ones or luxury oriented ones that are looking for a cheap Carens or a better made Baleno.

Wait, weren't we expecting a substantial facelift for both these models? I was under the impression that the Kiger update was coming well after the Magnite update as it was undergoing a more substantial upgrade. This, isn't it, Renault.

Such lame attempts of updates in the products put doubts in the minds of prospective buyers about the seriousness and sustainability of the brand in India. And that in turn results in poor sales.

This poor demand makes these manufacturers put less efforts in their products and this vicious cycle continues.

Im not sure for how many more years Renault would continue riding on the triber, with its sales dwindling, by just providing these cosmetic changes with combinations. I remember one of the earlier versions of the Triber had power windows for rxl and the version following it had it removed. One rxl version had rear ac vents and removed in a later version, now they are back.

Agree that the Triber has been built to a cost, and the utility provided by the vehicle kept the Indian buyer interested for some years, but unless they want to slowly kill the triber, they should upgrade its segment instead of doing an inky-pinky-ponky to select features across variants.

I'm not sure who's vibin' with the remote start engine , but seriously, if they just dialled in the damping and got those doors sealed tight, it would be a total game changer for the ride. After all these years of hearing the complaints, you'd think they'd be all over tweaking what they've already got to make it killer.

This is quite surprising how the Nissan Magnite (the Renault Kiger's joint at the hip pseudo-Japanese cousin) recently got quite a thorough refresh, and all the Kiger gets is a slight feature rejig.

With the Duster being about a year away, I'm really unsure how Renault plans to stay sustainable in this period—even with its dealers going the R.Store concept way and all that.

Sad but true, they say they are here for the long run but with these lacklustre updates wonder what even is their plan
The Triber with the 1L Turbo and CVT transmission would've been such a killer combination but alas that is just wishful thinking

Being old school I am happy that they did not iclude sunroof.

I never understood the thought process behind having a tubro engine mated to a lethargic CVT; moreover Jatco CVTs are notorious anyway !

They should have given a proper 6 speed AISIN TC in the turbo versions and have a noticible price gap with Fronx to be competitive.

Renault-Nissan CVT in the Magnite and Kiger is one of the better ones out there, rubberband effect is still there but it is very well contained
Bonus is its unmatched smoothness relative to any TC or DCT unit

To be honest, I don’t recollect the last time I saw either of these cars on the roads of Bombay. I really draw a blank. Are they selling in other parts of India ?

If not, how are they keeping the assembly going? Via exports?

I am sure they are well engineered products. Shame they missed a trick or two by loading them with features and playing it rather safe.
