Mercedes-Benz has issued a recall for the C-Class and E-Class over an ECU software issue.

Mercedes-Benz recalls C-Class, E-Class to fix ECU issue-eclassexteriorrightfrontthreequarter27.jpg

2,543 units of the E-Class manufactured between April 29, 2022, and August 20, 2024, in addition to 3 units of the C-Class built between August 31, 2021, and October 31, 2021, are affected by this recall.

According to SIAM, the software glitch could deactivate the fuel injection system in the petrol engine when the 'sailing mode' is switched off. This could lead to the car losing propulsion without any warning.

The carmaker has also recalled other models like the GLC, G-Class, S-Class, AMG GT and AMG E 63 over a faulty fuel delivery module that "might not meet specifications".

GLC SUVs manufactured since October 7, 2022, and AMG GTs built from October 5, 2022, are affected by this issue. The issue also affects S-Class sedans manufactured between July 20, 2022, and September 29, 2023, G-Class SUVs built between August 17, 2022, and December 20, 2022, and AMG E 63s from October 9, 2021, and October 18, 2022.
