MG Hector gets benefits worth Rs 2.4 lakh until March 31

JSW MG Motor India is offering benefits of up to Rs 2.4 lakhs on the Hector as part of the ‘Power Pack’ scheme. The offer is valid until March 31, 2025.

MG is offering an interest rate of 4.99% on financing (ROI), extended warranty, complementary accessories, roadside assistance, and a 50% reduction in road tax.

The MG Hector is currently offered in six variants: Style, Shine Pro, Select Pro Smart Pro, Sharp Pro and Savvy Pro. The SUV is available in 5, 6, and 7-seater configurations. Prices start at Rs 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Hector comes with two engine options. These include a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, which is paired with either a manual or CVT, and a 2.0-litre diesel mill, which is available with a manual gearbox.

Hector is a dying car model. Game has moved on. May be a diesel automatic would give it some respectable numbers in its last days. But that's a near impossible ask from MG. Their focus seems to be on electric vehicles of late.

Wow. I have never seen offers like a 50% road tax reduction and such a low interest rate (4.99%) in the Indian car market. Offers like 0% financing and large discounts are very common in China.

I don't think these offers will help Hector much. MG needs to follow the Windsor success formula with all their future launches. They should become EV only brand bring in their EVs and launch them at good starting prices as they did with Windsor. Windsor alone is outselling all other cars combined in their lineup. They should launch the ZS EV successor (MG ES5) and price it right against Creta.
