EX(O) variant is a perfect example of how much Indians love sunroofs over other convenient features. Instead of a sunroof, they should have included a rear wiper, defogger, electronically foldable ORVMs and other practical features.

Sunroofs and Bling (read LED everywhere, even if it actually is blinding for the eyes)

Hats off to Hyundai for providing an automatic option in lower variant EX(O). This is the kind of offering that sustains Creta as the segment leader but is absent from its sister brand Kia.

Looks like Hyundai scours through this forum looking for opinions. Can't believe they did what I was hoping Kia would do. Launch a CVT in entry level variant. Here's what I said a few days ago on the 2025 Kia Seltos launch.

When the Seltos is struggling vis a vis its sister car the Creta, Kia should have gone all out and offered us a HTE(O) IVT aswell especially since most of us are now tired of the daily traffic blocks and increasing leg pain issues associated with manual.
If Hyundai who are comfortably selling 17k Cretas every month can do this. Why couldn't 5k Seltos selling Kia?

We have to really appreciate Hyundai for constantly updating their lineup. Though the current Creta is just a year old and in-fact already a great seller, they tried to do something to make the package even better.

Re: Hyundai Creta 2025 launched; Gets new variants and features

Hyundai has made a smart move to keep its sales momentum strong.

The demand for automatic transmissions is steadily rising, especially as cars become more expensive. Introducing this new variant seems like a strategic masterstroke, making an automatic more accessible to a wider customer base.

With this approach, the cost of owning an automatic Creta has come down by approximately ₹1.5 to 1.75 lakh, which is a significant reduction. At the same time, Hyundai is likely securing additional margins on the automatic variants, making it a win-win strategy.

Still no UV-cut glasses. We were recently shopping for a new car and had shortlisted the Creta and Alcazar. However, after experiencing UV-cut glass, it's hard to go back to a car that doesn’t have it, especially one that is significantly more expensive. If the Seltos has it, I see no reason for Hyundai to skip it.

Re: Hyundai Creta 2025 launched; Gets new variants and features

When I was hoping for a base Seltos IVT/Diesel AT, Hyundai has done it. Hope Kia follow suit soon.
But kudos to Hyundai for realizing the need for automatics. The Creta is going to get a HUGE sales boost now.
EX variant has touchscreen, which is great. Wheels are steelies though, maybe Hyundai could have given it some alloy wheels for the automatic variants?
Overall, great move by Hyundai.

As affluence grows along with Indias economic strength, customer preferences are becoming more aspirational.

Totally agree with the fact that sunroofs and bling dont add value.

Unfortunately this is what our market wants. Who are OEMs to complain?

Though providing Automatic option in the entry level is a welcome move by Hyundai, for me Sunroof is a downer. For a country like India, atleast Sunroof should be optional. When I wanted to change my Ecosport last year, Creta S was top on list and when 2024 facelift came, many features like rear washer and wiper, Auto folding rear view mirror were removed from S variant. Though the features I needed was in S(O), it came with sunroof and this made me to drop Creta and I went for Virtus GT DSG.

What happens to the SX Tech variant? Does SX premium IVT for instance replace the SX tech IVT variant?

I too agree that Sunroof should not become a mandatory feature. This is a big issue with Korean Car Manufacturers; There is no Automatic Variant without Sunroof. They should learn from TOYOTA. Large Chunk of Indians prefer to have basic features such as Rear Defogger, Auto-Dimming IRVM, Cruise Control with a Pure Automatic Transmission without Sunroof.

Re: Hyundai Creta 2025 launched; Gets new variants and features

The panaromic sunroof is one of the most useless things in cars right now. With sun beating down in summers in our country, this feature makes no sense however people still want it. However the craze for sunroof at present is simply unreal.
