If 1.05cr starting price has 110% of tariff and now that is going down to 10%, why the price reduction is only 20L?

The tariffs charged on the current Defender was 16.5% under a different FTA agreement. It wasn't 110%.

Again, the Defender is not a UK car, its made in Slovakia hence local assembly might be the way.

I agree that the Defender has loads of character and is very different from other offerings in a good way. Even when it is specified with the fixed height and non-adaptive coil spring suspension (X-Dynamic HSE models).

Still, I think the electronic height adjustable air suspension and adaptive dynamics suspension are two very important features (without going into the reliability point of view) that really place it on a different pedestal capability wise (whether users understand and use it or not ) with a relatively modest increase in upfront price (long term maintenance costs be damned ).

If I’m not mistaken, the lowest cost version of the Defender with height adjustable air suspension and adaptive dynamics suspension is the 110 X 3.0 diesel model at a 1.8 crore on-road price.

May not be an apples to apples comparison, I’m just seeing it in the light of the characterful (maybe not as much as the Defender, but still…) 1st generation Volkswagen Touareg which also had monocoque chassis with a low range transfer case with centre and rear locking differentials as well as the option of height adjustable air suspension and adaptive shock absorbers way back in the 2000s.

The FTA is with the UK. Someone mentioned here that the defender is built in an eastern European country. So I guess it doesn't get any benefit ?
