Nano delivery woes - stampede waiting to happen!

Having all said and done about the Nano, the next big issue for both TATA and the indian govt. is how to manage the deliverey of this big time small car! The govt. is already showing its concerns about the huge pile up of traffic, especially in metros considering the TATA's production capacity of 2.5 lakh cars per annum.

I guess this car is so desirable that every potential Indian, richest or poorest wants this car. Even the ones like me, having three cars wants one Nano for daily office commuting. The demend for this car is expected to be 10 times higher (25 lakhs per year) as against the production. Considering all this, the TATAs and the govt. have already concieved few plans on the distribution system of the Nano. Few of them which I remember are listed below (source: Aaj Tak)
  1. The car to be given on purely first come first serve baisis, and the bookings would stop while reaching 3 lakh mark.
  2. Adopting a lottery based system.
  3. To be given to Auto walas only initially.
  4. To be given to families having combined family income of less then Rs 15k p.m, restricting to one car per household.
  5. Not giving to a person who already has one ar more cars in his/her name.
  6. Preference to be given to working women and retired persons.
I am not too sure wether there really is a talk like this or these points are concieved by the channel "Aaj tak" itself. Just waiting for opinions from you fellows.

There is a possibility of it trading in black, like the way 800 did in late 80's. But the premium would take it closer to the price of the 800, especially if Suzuki slashes the prices.
