Hyundai and GM announce price cuts up to 16k!!

Thanks to today's budget.

The price cut on Santro could be between Rs 12,000 and Rs 14,000, while that on Getz would be between Rs 14,000 and Rs 16,000.
Price cut on the newly launched i10 could be between Rs 12,000 and Rs 16,000.

GM: U-VA and Spark: between 7,500 and Rs 14,000

Hyundai, GM to cut prices of small cars

Welcome move. clap:

Yes, i was waiting for this budjet as i was going to book a getz D

Very good Move.
I am too waiting for this.
We can get GetZ D for 16K less. :)

Those of you looking to buy a car, move fast. Make hay while the sun shines. In a couple of months most of these prices will be revised up back to their old levels by the car companies citing rising input costs. Do you guys honestly think that price/tax benefits will be passed on to you forever?

Getz crdi uses 1.5engine engine where as I think small car definition for diesel is 1.4L engine. Am i missing something..!

Are you sure Amit? Then why they slashed the price. Is it just to fool the buyers?

What Amit says is true. Increase in Steel prices, increase in labour costs will bring it back to the same level after a certain point of time.

But something is definitely better than nothing. Atleast the increase when it comes will not be on the old pre-budget price.

small car diesel means within 1500cc engine & 4000mm length

Maruti cuts prices as well on the Maruti 800, Omni, Zen, Wagon R,
Swift Diesel and Alto.
The cut ranges from Rs 6,500 for Maruti 800 to Rs 18,030 for Swift
Diesel (ex-showroom Delhi).

Mods can this thread be merged with the budget thread? they both discuss the same things.

i think you would be eligible for the price cuts.
because its 1.5 litres for a diesel and 4000mm length

just a month back maruti hiked their prices of all their models ,and now they are slashing it , so it makes almost NIL , and i think they will hike the prices again.

Anybody got an idea of how much tata indigo CS who be priced after this ??? the only sedan to get benefited out of this budjet .:D

All the price cuts are effective April 1st ... Wouldn't that hit sales largely for these companies as everyone would wait for march to pass.

Post April 1st, it really won't make any dfference. Because the car companies will cut dealer discounts and some other goodies which are on offer right now. Don't agree with me, see it for yourself on April 1st. Try getting a final qoute (with all discounts factored in) for a small car right now and get it again on April 1st. The difference would be neglegible.

It is always like that. The dealers, car manufacturers and the government are not really that generous.
