Hi All,
I was watching 'Wheel spin' auto show today on Headlines Today and he mention and showed the Hyundai i10 in a Diesel avatar :Shockked:. Hyundai is bringing this pretty soon on to the Indian roads.
does this mean that Hyundai i10 diesel would be a killer to the swift if priced right??? also not to forget the Palio, Logan and indica???? :deadhorse
Also find the related information in the link below,
Speed is an addiction...someone take me to rehab!!: Hyundai i10 diesel coming 2008
Does any one have more news on the same???
Regards,
Sajan
1.1l diesel !! diesels are definetly getting smaller..
but at the current pricing of i10 (petrol version ), the diesel is going to be in no mans land!
indica clearly would be a more value proposition and cheaper than i10 diesel..
things would also change against the i10 diesel once new indica gets launched becos the older indica might be sold side by side at a lower price maybe
Yes it is true, even hyundai announced it while launching i10 that they'll be producing 1.1 ltr diesel by mid 2008. But what they mentioned was that it would be meant for Export to Europe. No clues when will they introduce same for indian market.
Its truly the century of diesels.

Also not to forget the Splash diesel which will come with the already proven 1.3 DDiS.

After what happened to the Getz CRDi, I wonder if hyundai is capable of such a thing.
hope the pricing doesnt make it a stillborn :(
Thumbs down to i10 diesel in advance from my side!! I've made a negative impression about hyndai with respect to its pricing for new cars. Just a personal opinion.
I have read it in the march edition of autocar . Hyundai seems to be bringing 1.2L diesel for i10 . And the i20 is meant only for exports.
3 pot cylinder from Verna? or the 3 pot used in Accent?

verna has a 4 cylinder engine.accent 3 cyl. hence the difference in NVH. hyundai also claims better reliability for the same reason
Seeing the pricing of i10 petrol I am sure i10 Diesel will be priced higher than Swift D.

What I meant as Verna's 4cylinder -1 :) Like what they have in Fabia

if hyundai decides to bring in the i10 diesel i guess they are looking at a all new segment [ small diesel car] and want to cash in on this and maybe treat the getz the same way they did to the accent crdi  and other variants of accent. Again, i'am just guessing. your thoughts please.
If priced sensibly, the i10 diesel would be a good proposition. Personally though, I would go for the Swift any day!

which is quite unlikely from hyundai going by the recent past..
with the i10 petrol pricing as benchmark, the diesel is better off NOT launched in india
