All M800 fans rejoice!!

Maruti has launched a new version of india's max selling car, the M800.

The new car will have a 32bit ECU to meet the Euro 3 emission norms. Plus the usual cosmetic maruti changes and a price hike of 4.4%.

Cheers

amitoj,

any idea about the power output or torque figures

satya

Dunno abt the power output, Satya. It will probably be same as the Euro II M800.

where are the pics? Waiting............

I dont have the pics, dude... but u can look at a couple of em here:
http://www.indiainfoline.com/bize/nelo.html

  1. Headlamp leveling (For Euro-3, I guess)
  2. New tail lamps
  3. Supposedly better interior
  4. some changes in front grill and clear lense headlamp.

Saw that in a newpaper advt today.

saw that advt about a week ago in HT

damn, I thought it wud be some sort of a big change, at least a change in front bumper. slightly dissapointing.

That is not just slightly but absolutely dissappointing... when are people at MUL going to start upgrading to better safety standards adopt newer technologies on cars ... its high time they stop selling their vehicles just by changing the head/tail lamps... they are just upgrading cosmetics and nothing else...

and it comed with a 32bit chip too
i think headlamp levelling is now manadatory in all versions
didnt like the look all that much
interior changes includes fabrics used ... i think from what i could see in the pictures

Indeed, it is a disgrace that such an obsolete and unsafe vehicle is still being sold. MUL is selling it for the sole puprpose of laughing all the way to the bank. I'm sure they have higher profit margins on the M800 than on newer models like the WagonR.

When most of parts/engine are not electronically controlled in M800 i dont know what is the use of a 32 bit ECU ?

ECM is the acronym for Electronic Control Module. This is the brain of the MPFI system. It controls the amount of fuel to be injected into the engine and the ignition timing based on the inputs received from various sensors. It consists of a micro computer analog to digital converter.

previuosly 16-ecm was used ,but now 32-bit will be used.A 32 bit ECM has been put in the car for faster processing of data for more precise control of various parameters.

for more info .go to www.marutiudyog.com

will it affect performance in anyway = 32 bit ecm

ideally speaking it should, but how much usefull it'll be on M800 isa doubtfull.. c the more powerfull(i.e. bits) the faster the processing & hence more ignition maps/curves can be put on the ECM & more the maps/curves better will be the mileage & performance of the car.
