Probably the sedan based on the new Indica platform. But then what is it doing in TN? Are they trying to confuse compitition by having their test mules in different locations?????????

It could be the new fiesta that Ford is planning to launch- going by the fact that the car was spotted in Chennai.
If its TN 37 its Coimbatore. Actually I had seen Sumo Grande being tested in Coimbatore before its launch. Seems like Tata is testing its cars here.
Doesn't look like a ford from the high rise and the rear view mirror. Though I saw similarly disguised ford vehicles inside the door of the ford factory today morning. Couldn't take a picture though. Will try to take a peek again!
Could it be the new Ambassador :P The rear windscreen looks like it! Jokes apart, has to be from the TATA stable

More likely the new Indigo, going by the wheels and the (temp) registration.
AFAIK, Tatas have a testing, R&D agreement with one of the leading tuners here who had also created the Silhouette (2**? BHP Indica with a Rover engine). There were also talks about rally tuned Indicas directly from Tata's prepared by the same garage, please check another thread in T-BHP for further information.
Personally I have seen several Tata cars being tested out here (Coimbatore), including the Sumo Grande and couple of LHD Safaris.
Agree with what most of the members have said..It must be the Indigo, because of the wheelrims.
Me too.. Agree with that... i have seen lot of tata vehicles from indica LHD to pickupss... near palladam... So Chances beeing TATA As well SVM seems like fiesta's..
myt be tata bcoz lot of tatas tested here in kangeyam dharapuram road... side view mirror resembles fiesta too..
Looks like the new indigo, because earlier someone posted the pictures of the same and even Indigo CS was caught testing under TN 37 plates.
There's Ford, Mitsubushi, Hyundai and BMW who have their factories in and around Chennai. Could be a Ford or Hyundai.
Would the Tata vehicles be driven uptil Chennai from Coimbatore? Its about 450kms or so. I always thought they don't even refill at local petrol stations, so would they venture out so far?
Whatever the clues reveal.Something just screams TATA in this pic.

Most test vehicles run all over the country. The chances of spotting one near the home plant are significantly higher compared to anywhere else.
