Yes, once you have had enough, it would feel as if you are riding your bike on high speeds. :D

I filled from shell yesterday it cost Rs 66.40/-. But looking at the trend it would be 70 buck next week :)

I have used Speed-97 quite a few time now. Here are my experiences:

1. Used on my 1999 Carb Esteem: There was a significant improvement in Smoothness and Throttle response. The car would just leap forward as if too eager to be on the run.

2. Used on my Avenger: Significant improvement in pick-up and the bike really rev happy now. No hint of stress or harshness at any speed and even the engine sound is so much smoother.

3. Used on my current MPFI Opel Astra: Very little difference..if any..:eek:.

As someone said it could be something to do with the Engine.
But I also read somewhere that in Astra there is a switch somewhere internally to select a setting for Higher octane Petrol. That enables the engine to take optimum advantage of it. But I am not sure how it is done.

Strangely people still use 97 octane petrol. IMO, for my car, the 97 octance and the normal fuel did not make any significant difference in the FE. Why use this high cost fuel?

shell has their own source if i'm not mistaken so i don't see why it should happen immediately.

anyway shell is pretty good quality. the only problem is that there's no shell bunk near enough to where i stay :( so i fill up IOC xtrapremium for 62.5 bucks/liter. (i'm in bangalore BTW)

The reasons that people have outlined in the previous posts :p ? Some people find it makes a difference and so they use it.

Some people like kbk HAVE to use it :lol:

with most of the cars we are driving here we dont need speed 97.
for people whose cars require speed 97 dont need to think of the cost of it.

You won't need a bike. You'll fly after you're tummy's tanked up with beer lol:

Same here man Saw huge improvement with Speed 97.. Strange we both have allmost the same cars and bikes.

Speed 97 makes a huge difference, You should try it maybe it will help fill the need for speed that lurks in you :uncontrol

Hi guys, I've been using Speed97 exclusively since its introduction (in 2005 ?). But for the past few months I'm finding availability an issue - in Chennai at least.

I would need a tank-up soon & the station I frequent (Elite, on Cathedral Road) informs me that Speed97 hasn't arrived for the past 3 weeks ! Can anybody who's tanked up on Speed97 in the recent past help me ? With respect to alternatives, how's Shell-Premium compared to Speed97 ?

The person who started this thread bought an E92 BMW M3 brand new.
What do you have to say about that?

A person buying a car like that would be prepared for higher running costs, I am sure.
