Where is real Quality ?
18 days to go - says the website. There is a full page ad in the HT today too. Finally Toyota seems to be moving.
The car looks like a mini Camry which is a very good thing IMO. Now let's wait to check the features.
Gautam, dont we already have threads for the new Corolla? :D Do we need yet another one?
Seems like September is going to be a real action packed month with the G3HC, Altis and Linea scheduled to be launched. Maybe we should have a new thread "Action packed September: 3 new launches" to discuss these new cars :).
On the website, the Altis picture shows headlight washers. Seems like the top end variant will get xenons. The car also has blinkers in the ORVM's.

I can't see much difference from the earlier model. Infact they could have done better. They should know that the ingenio is just round the corner. |
Yes, No visible changes in the rear except rear-view sensors. :-(

with all these changes.. will there any price difference? |
Yes definitely. Car companies relaunch same models with cosmetic changes for 1) Increase the price saying "NEW" 2) After market headlamps and tail lamps for previous model will not fit in the new one making a gap for some time for new after markets to come in, so that the company makes more money with spares. Especially with head and tail lamps since that will be the first thing to get damaged in a small clash.
Santro prices remain same for the past three years but they have cut off many features to reduce cost for them. Since its not viable for a new model :D
spotted this on sunday while coming from bangalore on GQ ..... sorry cudn't take any front pics :( ..... from front it looked like pretty much same to current camry, the guy was driving very slow around 60kmph constant.
No parking sensors?
Those side mirrors look huge !
if not for your comment on the front looking like a camry , i woulda thought this rear end has the butch feeling of Chevy. ie, Chevy Cruze .
Got some info on the Altis It's Features are as listed below
4 Speed Electronic Controlled Transmission with Shift Gates
8 way adjustable power seates
Xenon headlamp with washers
Multi information display (Avg,instantaneous millage,range,running time,outside temp,etc)
Tyres 195/60 R15
Cruise Control
Steering mounted audio controls
Stereo with 2 Aux inputs
Electrochromatic Mirrors
475 Litre Boot
And the guys who have taken a drive of this car says that the previous gen car's problems have been sorted out like In cabin Ambiance,Zero Noise Levels.
While the rear seat which was the forte of the corolla has gone to the ditch just like the old Camry and the new Camry. Feels a lot more peppier and the fuel efficiency is not going to be that impressive like the previous car they said that it will be just 8.5 % higher than the Civic. which i think will be something like 11 or 12 KMPL
anyway it's just gonna sell like hot cake and the first batch of Altis has already arrived at showrooms in Kerala, No Need to rush into showrooms they won't show it to you now. :D
There's Gonnabe a preview on 24th
My Friend is already on the way to take the first booking for Cochin Toyota, The introductory Pricing is going to be revolutionary i.e Between 11 to 13 Lakhs
Mods Request you to Merge this thread With the other Corolla Thread.
I too have spotted the same, the new Corolla on test on my way down from Mumbai to Bangalore a month back. But I couldn't snap it as I was on 120+ kph & the Corolla was almost the same.

:Frustrati Wouldn't this return lesser FE than civics 5 speed A/T ?
Is the intro price discounted?? I highly doubt this, if anything they might just charge a premium !
Do keep us updated on the pricing received by your friend .

from what you have mentioned. its more loaded than the freaking civic. now i am tempted
My Friend told me a million times that the Pricing would be "revolutionary" As said by Toyota but currently he's going to take a blind booking the exact prices not yet conformed.
The Corolla A/T was getting better millage than the Civic with a similar 4 speed Transmission, Since it's ECT lets hope for better efficiency.
