Cars driven by Ladies may not carry a "premium" (there is no reason they should), but it is incorrect to say that ALL ladies ride the clutch, dent the car & generally are bad drivers.

I have seen enough examples of extremely well maintained cars driven by women.

Who would want his mother, sister, wife or daughter to drive an unreliable car ? Women "generally" drive patiently- do not race / over revv / race their cars.

Having said that - it does not merit a premium either.

My choice of preferences for a 2nd hand car:

1) Doctor.
2) Professor.
3) Bank Employee.

And never from a guy who is young and in the age group of (20-30 yrs) and ladies.

BTW a relative in cochin earlier had picked up a doc' owned car which turned out to be a complete disaster. I wonder if the dude even changed the engine oil at regular intervals. So IMO this doc' owned/lady owned thingy is sometimes rubbish.

Shouldn't the overall condition of the car be the deciding factor than who the owner is? One is going to live with the car, not the owner .

Unless the owner is too good to resist or too bad to be associated with.

more than the show room price? and the price would keep increasing the more miles she adds to it.

this widespread belief that doctor driven cars are better maintained has helped my dad get some really good prices on resale.

I agree partially. There are doctors who maintain their cars well, but there are others who dont, just like any other profession. saying that all doctor owned cars have to be well maintained is hogwash, just like saying all doctor owned cars are poorly maintained.

Let me put it this way, I would never sell my car to any of my friends.
and you definitely dont want to buy a car from my dad who's also a doctor.
saying all this, I have definitely started looking after my car a lot more after joining tbhp(the mechanicals atleast)

guilty on both counts(MBBS at manipal). though I went on rallies only twice, once in an M800(mine), and the other on a Suzuki Shogun bike as a navigator for another doctor friend.

I hope you dont go and pick up a car from a doctor in blind faith, or from a professor or a bank employee. you just cant stereotype a person or a profession. doesnt matter if its a positive or a negative stereotype.

I believe we can add courier company vehicles as well, though you may as well include that in small scale business.

I do push my car to its limits , but then again, i do take good care of it. I'm sure it applies to a lot of us
