Need some help in understanding the difference between the Type 1 and Type 2 Honda 1.5

1. Visible : Body ( exteriors and interiors ) , badging etc
2. Invisible : Engine , transmission etc
3. Ownership : Performance , Maintainence etc

Information will help me in buying a car

[The redesigned Honda was launched in mid of 2000(june-july)
1. Visible : Body ( exteriors and interiors ) , badging etc
Clear Headlights at front n clear rear lights at back, Bumper redesign
Interiors.. slight modification in the dashboard tellatell things.. like placement of hazzard button + Ac vents
2. Invisible : Engine , transmission etc
SAME
3. Ownership : Performance , Maintainence etc
SAME- But Post 2000 very nicely designed OHC

Sushrutha - is yours a type 1 or a type 2 ?

Does anybody have pictures, or leads to BHP garages where I can look for Type 1 and Type 2 pictures

Sushrutha's is the type 2 City. I believe that Type 1 had slider controls for AC

I have type 1 OHC, you can find the pics in my garage...

I did drive a type two felt my engine much more smoother, my personal thoughts

Adding to Sushrutha's post, exterior differences also include New bonnet design, new grille, bumper, front fenders, boot lid, rear bumper & rear quarter panels.

And better upholstery on the seats/door pads plus different console & HVAC controls.

i also own type 1 and someone was telling me that the engine and some other mechanical parts are purely made in japan whereas type 2s have indian assembly. Is this correct?
even i have felt type1 engines bit smoother than type 2s.
