The NDTV show host commented that the slush box has not been majorly modified for the Scorpio. Thus, the ratios aren't spaced out optimally.
They've priced it at 11lacs+ :eek:. The auto is a great option but M&M havent exactly made it value for money. Considering that they literally have no competition in the Diesel Auto stakes, i guess the price wont stop Auto lovers from buying them.

mHawk is anyway in the 11 L territory & i think we should appreciate mahindra for keeping the auto with almost the same price.

On the CNBC show I saw last time, Mr.Goenka said it is slated to be available in December, 2008.
If it's in the 11 L territory, they'd have runaway sales in the cities.

Scorp AT is primarily for US export. They are using the local market as guniea pigs to iron out the bugs.
Are there any plans to launch the fourwheel drive version with automatic transmission?I dont see it coming sometime soon,.
Mahindra has just
launched the Scorpio Automatic for 10.34 lakhs ex. showroom Bangalore. I guess they released it a lot earlier than expected.
They have launched 2 models VLS and VLX both having ABS as per their updated website.
I guess its over to the competition now to play catch up.
Even the ACI review says that the 'box has not been properly adapted for the car & the ratios need to be refined more for it to work at an optimal level.

- 2 variants, VLX & VLS
- Bangalore Ex Sh. starts at 10.34 lacs
I guess Mahindra has done the right thing with providing a lower price variant for those who dont what to shell out the extra for unecessary bells and whistles they might not use. But I still think an even more competitive model with just PS, A/C, front power windows and central locking should be provided in the 9.5 lac range and set themselves a monopoly in the diesel auto segment that most manufacturers have ignored. Also it will be a while before others can respond with an Auto variant. Good going M&M nonetheless.
