Good Photo and nice looking hatchback!
It looks decently spacious too.
I am eagerly waiting to know the prices.

Apart from the front grill and airbag option, i dont see any difference betwen the indian verna and the korean version. The same Verna is called as the accent in USA and has got lots of features.

Hyundai Motor America - 2009 Hyundai Accent

I20 looks good from front but looks like UVA from the rear..

This is one beautiful looking car .clap:

Will Hyundai still keep Accent or will completely roll it off manufacturing?

The Getz wasn't a bad looking car but the i20 is even better. Cannot wait to see it in flesh.

Some information about the new diesel engine that will power the i20.

Quote:

The U2 engine delivers a fuel economy rating of 4.7 L/100km (50 mpg), low CO2 emissions of 125g CO2 /km, the best Torque in its class: 26.5kg.m@1900~2750rpm, and is fully compliant with the latest Euro4 emission standards.

Wow, that's a big scoop. The car looks great unlike i10. I have put up the pictures here. Credit goes to Autocar India.

must say hyundai design is getting better. i like the way this car looks.

The i20 more than just another model, will play a major role in shaping the market. As Hyundai starts using India as their small car export base we will keep getting up to date technology especially when it comes to modern diesels, handling, safety etc. Perhaps they will cut down on stuff like no. of airbags and features like park sensors, sunroofs etc. but we wont have to live with models based on outdated platforms.

Once the benchmark is raised other makers will have to follow suit.
Kudos to Hyundai.

Actually i20 i-blue diesel is supposed to be much more fuel efficient and greener than that. Paris Preview: Hyundai will show new 59 mpg i20 i-blue concept - AutoblogGreen
Quote:

The i20 blue also runs the extremely efficient 1.4 CRDi diesel engine, which produces 90PS and generates 220 Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed manual gearbox – instead of the car's usual five-speed unit.

The regular i20 stands out for its incredibly low CO2 rating and fuel consumption and the i20 blue is even more impressive, with just 99g/km and 4.0 litres /100km.

i always thought Verna is a good car, except that it is bit overpriced . And then it does not offer Airbags even in the highest model. i am really think about a Fiesta Vs Verna Vs Linea .

I wonder why no one is asking about the interiors? If the car is so near it's launch, then why no photo's of it's interiors?

Is i20 getting launched in petrol or in diesel as well?

i have a few pics of the interiors from some spy pics. Here's the link.

After a teaser announcement in early September, Hyundai decided to release a new set of images and further details on its new i20 supermini.

At the Paris Show we’ll only see a five-door model but according to
Hyundai, a sportier three-door i20 version will debut in January 2009.
Based on an all-new platfortm with a 2,525mm wheelbase, the i20 is lower, longer and wider than the Getz it replaces.

Designed and developed in Europe, the i20’s exterior styling is clearly inspired from the existing i30.
Hyundai has yet to release pictures of the five-seater interior but the Korean automaker said that the i20 will offer numerous ‘smart’ storage spaces along with a 40:60 split flat-folding rear bench with a low lip for easy loading into the 295-litre luggage compartment.

The i20 will debut with a range of seven petrol and diesel engines.

The petrol line-up comprises of the 78PS 1.2-liter, 100PS 1.4-liter and 126PS 1.6-liter units all available with five-speed manual transmissions, with the option of four-speed automatic gearboxes on the 1.4 and 1.6 models.

As for the turbo diesel powerplants, the i20 will be offered with a 1.4-liter unit available in two specifications – 75PS and 90PS – while the flagship 1.6-liter motor is available in 115PS and 128PS trim. Both 1.4 models come with five-speed manual transmissions, while the flagship 1.6 is mated to a six-gear manual drivetrain.

When the i20 goes on sale in Europe later this year, it will be offered in four trim levels – Classic, Comfort, Style and Premium. All trim levels feature six-airbags, ABS, climate control, a four-speaker radio, CD and MP3 audio system, a multi-function steering wheel, tire pressure monitoring system, height-adjustable driver seat, keyless entry and electrically operated windows and side mirrors as standard.

HOLLY MOLLY!!! Looks like this i was worth the wait - I was skipping a Getz CRDi, awaiting the i20, and am not disappointed - not at all!!!
