I own a 1996 Cielo, exelently mantained. Initially I used to get it serviced from Daewoo authorised service station. Then suddenly all service centres were shut down. Consequtively the Daewoo service & spares was handled by Fiat. I started going to Fiat motors for service.
But now, fiat service is handled by TATA motors :Frustrati.
TATAs have agrreed to service fiat cars but refused the liability named 'Daewoo'. Where do I go now? Upon evaluation of my car I was offered Rs 25K by Automart. A side view mirror of Cielo in open market costs Rs 2,500. What is the fate of Daewoo car owners now?

A local mechanic who is good at repairing cars and knows about the cielo cars is the one who should be preferred. Anyways, the warranty of the parts will be long over time back itelf. Hence pick up a good mechanic and then get it serviced.
Suggest you clean up the car & book your losses. Or, push it till it falls off it's bearings so you can abandon it then.
You will need to take a call about keeping it till it gives up on you, or to sell and be done with it.
Where do Daewoo car owners go now?
To the same places where the peugeot car owners or the standard car owners go. Also add Padmini!!!(include scrap yards / junk yards in the list of places to be visited)
Doesn't GM do anything for Cielo owners? weren't they planning to service the matiz?
I fully understand your problem and state of mind and sympathise with you. Personally I have very fond memories of Cielo Nexia which I used for a drive from Delhi to Kufri and then Agra and Fatehpur Sikri etc in 1999.
I also had a Peugeot 309 and had a similar kind of fate because Peugeot walked out of its joint venture in India. A headlamp assembly in 2001 was quoted at Rs 7000, which was a humongous amount of money to me in those days. So I used to drive around with a broken headlight and risked being booked by cops!!!
Finally I had to sell it off for Rs 25k.
If you are serious about keeping the Cielo for memory's sake I would suggest find out how the Matiz owners are coping and follow them. They would probably know some workshop which has some ex-Daewoo trained senior mechanics. Go there. I agree getting parts would be difficult and expensive.
If it is a purely financial issue, I would suggest book the loss and get out of it, even if you get just junk value. Because there is no hope of things improving from here. GM taking over Daewoo assets globally isn't going to help any of the old customers of Daewoo like you.
the best place?
go to patparganj industrial area, east delhi and there is a workshop which specialises in daewoo cars-brooklyn service engineers. any part, any service for any daewoo car can be handled there.
to reach there,
take the first gate, enter and once you see samara hyundai workshop, take a left in front of it.go straight, and you will find a t-point. take left, and take the second right, just opposite to hero honda workshop. you will find the workshop in the left.

akash your best bet is to find a local mechanic who could do the job for you. I have seen quite a few Cielo's being serviced at local garages in bangy.

Its really a bad situation.
I visited a GM service center in Chennai and asked wheter they service my friend's Matiz. The answer was a NO.
Its better to contact a local mechanic who does foreign cars.
Sell it for whatever you get, you are flogging a dead horse. Get yourself a used M800 if finances are an issue.
Akash scince you say that your car is excellent maintained then why do you bother about anything major going kaput . I am sure when it comes to maintaining a car you must be in touch with a local mechanic for sure !! Petrol car s when driven conservatively do not really need any huge maintainnce just change oil and oil filter every six month s local mechanic can suffice .Yes when it comes to elcetronic parts like power window switche s headlight /indicator and wiper stalk s fuel pump it s difficult to locate them :Frustrati . but not IMPOSSIBLE if it s worth the effort keep the car !!

A local mechanic is your best bet, as some have mentioned here. I know that my Dad's mechanic fixes Cielos as he has mentioned to me, while taking about the car scene here with him. And, he has never said that it was a difficult car to fix. So, hunt for a good mechanic who is familiar with your car and enjoy your ride.

Keep it as long as it goes well. In Delhi, parts are available quite easily. If it gets to the point where a major component goes kaput, flog it for scrap with any of the dealers you bought parts from.
