Sid; you rule!

Oh! No. Please don't tell me that they are going to price like Octavia if it is 90bhp!

In that case, Fiesta should be priced less then Dzire since it's 68bhp!

Anyways this is a really interesting car to be watching out for...

ok finally a different refreshing thread on this long awaited car. the features are spot on and diesel will only complement them. move over honda, toyota, sx4, and all you smaller children, THE car of the year is here :)

now fiat, make it sweet by having an introductory offer, and you've got customers!

Specs look impressive, am sure it will be priced well too, now Fiat please announce the launch date!

Thanks sid for the information.I think the top end version will be more than 10lacs.
When i TD the 1.3 diesel with 90bhp i could find the power is not enough for the solid Linea. But 1.3 diesel is the only diesel engine we can get it for Linea when they launch and dont dream about 1.9diesel.

Looking at the Kerb weight and availability of Overdrive in 4th and 5th gears I dont think the performance will be poor.

Googled Fiat Linea, found this site
- Fiat Linea -
It talks about 2 Petrol varients 1.4 and 1.4 T-Jet along with 1.3 Multijet with VGT

Atlast Linea is hitting indian roads. Specs seem pretty good. Fiat should give good competition while pricing it.

Hope fiat picks it reputation back in india with this entry.

Looking at the history one thing is for sure, TATA's turn around the tables in any business they are in.

This JV is going to rock for sure (TATA-FIAT).

Linea will be positioned as the Premium Sedan from the TATA outlets targeting Fiesta till ANHC. Hoping to see them at least in the showrooms by Diwali.

You are right I drove with a bunch of them (it had a couple of diesels) for 50 kms and the car moves pretty fast. I was in my SX4 and had a tough time catching up with them.

Wow man, you really are jugad champion. Hats off to you.clap:
Did he indicate anything more specific on the dates?Would they launch something so close to year end/
Must say, the features are mouth watering and will set a new standard.
The pricing, though, remains to be seen - higher models will be D-segment, I believe.

Fantastic Scoop Sidindica. Congrats. :thumbs up

This is clearly a D-segment car. If the get the pricing right, say the MJD with VGT close to ANHC topend, then they have a winner in their hand.

Come on Fiat, just announce the launch date atleast.

Tend to agree with OSS. The high end emotion+ seems to be closer to D segment in terms of creature comforts. The pricing too will reflect that. The specs indicate that the Linea will be a bigger car too from the ANC.

My take is that the pricing will start off at Honda City SMT levels (8.5 lacs) and go into Civic territory. Ofcourse, this assumes that we are not fed an "Indianised" version of the car with certain high-end features done away with.

If pricing starts off even at high end Dzire levels (~ 6.5 lacs) then it will be unbelievable VFM!

Dont tell them that yet :)

But seriously, why cant we get all those goodies at C-Segment prices (7-9 Lac)?

This is probably the 5th thread we have here on Fiat Linea. All filled with anticipations, scoops and indicative reports.
When really will we get to see a car at the nearby Tata showroom?
