Honda Civic 2009 Facelift

Shortly after revealing the facelifted Civic for the American market, Honda has unveiled the Civic facelift for its home market, Japan. The japanese Civic is more or less the same as the Indian Civic hence we have a fair idea as to how the Indian facelifted Civic will look.
The changes are very minor though and you need to have a keen eye to make out the differences. First up is the changed front grille which now features sharper edges and a thick chrome bar at the top which give it a wider apperance and a more upmarket look. The front bumper has also been redesigned slightly with wider air intakes which makes it look sportier. Redesigned tail lamps with larger internal lens are no longer round complete the facelift for the exteriors.

The insides get minor update to the in-car entertainment system which now features USB input along with new fabric for the seats. The engine remains exactly the same as far as number are concerned. It remains to be seen if Honda has tweaked the engine for better low end response for city driveability which is lacking in the Civic vis-a-vis its competition, especially the recently launched arch rival Corolla Altis, which also trumps the Civic by offering more equipments for the same money.

Wow, Thats a nice facelift for the car. It now looks more broader and tough. But aren't the alloys from the hybrid

The lines are just the same so hardly a facelift. More like new spectacles on the same old face. New Grill and slight changes for the lamps.

Nothing more significant to my not so keen eye.

I'll welcome the facelift, but frankly speaking I really find nothing wrong with what I have right now. Civic rocks! cheers:

A thread on this already exists with most of the pics which you have posted.

I request the mods to merge this thread or lock this one.

Btw, only minor changes are visible, like inverted trapezium on front bumpers.
and minor change in tail-lamps and the grille mesh.

Very true only minor changes, only cosmetic and that too something not that a whole lot of people will notice. Its already released where I am right now, looks better but the change is not very prominent to a non-petrol head (if there's a word like that).
